And Roger will pound his fist!

  2. Doreen

Funny stuff. And a little scary, too!

  3. Mehdi

You know what’s better than 9? 10. Let’s do this!

  4. Mike from CT (formerly of DC)

Some people have entirely too much time on their hands…

  5. nyy

Mets are in a slump right and the Yankees r on a roll. One more sweep comming up for the yanks. And we can sweep the Rockies and Giants. The Sox r slumping pretty bad and we will be at the top of AL East by the end of the month. There is no stopping the yanks now.

  6. Justin

Wow Abe, I didn’t realize you frequented BostonDirtDogs so much.

  7. BillyJoBob

He had his groin removed last year?

  8. Dave

what do u guys think it would take to get mark teixera realistically? With texas doing the way they r doing, Im sure they wouldnt mind trading teixera for some quality prospects.

  9. We Miss Paulie

Yeah, someone has way too much time on their hands. That’s no home video.

    Stupid.

  10. Chris in MA

    Justin,
It is actually all over the internet and not just on bostondirtdogs.
I saw it on a baseball card site.

  11. Asst Manager

Where do some people get all this time to do this?

    Good to have trust funds

  12. murphydog

Here’s my guess: In order to give up Teixeira, the Rangers would be asking for a real pitching prospect or two and a body or two. Could that be Clippard and one of the good young arms, other than Hughes, plus some AAAA position player? The Yanks have very few good position player prospects.

Assuming the yanks have the pieces, however, before this deal gets close to being made the Yanks will need to know whether Teixeira is amenable to an extension now and agrees to give the Yanks a window to negotiate a new contract with him. If Teixeira says “no” to an extension now, or they can’t reach a reasonably priced extension, then no deal.

  13. Peter Abraham

Dirt Dogs? I think the guy who produced it e-mailed me the link.

  14. Ross www.nyystadiuminsider.com

The Golden Girls line was hilarious!

  15. Huuz

bear with me on this, but what is the reference behind the “…Roger pounds his fist…” bit…?

  16. jennifer

This video is flawed. The guy playing Cash’s son looks too young. It should be Brian Cashman the III.

    :P

  17. Justin

I’d point out why Teixiera is really overrated but someone would come back with “MY UNCLE LIVES IN TEXAS AND SAW HIM HIT A HOMER WATCH THE GAMES STATEHAD,” so I won’t even bother.

If we could package a deal centering around Horne or Marquez, I would be open to it. But nothing about Ian/Dellin/Joba should even be discussed.

  18. DP

Steinbrenner’s brain, preserved in a jar, still making decisions?

The scary thing is, I could totally see that happening… ;)

  19. Michael

    Nice, very nice

  20. Marc

What about Farns, DeSalvo and a Trenton prospect.

  21. Dr. Acula

    Blah

    I give it a C plus.

it was toooooo long and toooooo many replays of the dementia line.

Plus, BatGirl Blog wrote a similar bit when the signing occurred. Only it was waaay funnier, as worked off of Suzyn’s call.

  22. saucy

agreed jennifer. thought the same thing.

  23. DC Yank

    Lame.

  24. Cubs hater

    GO Boomer! Alfonso is overrated.

  25. Justin

What do you mean a “Trenton Prospect?” I’d package up Ramirez (sorry, but the Yankees are never going to give him a proper chance), Marquez/Horne, and an infielder type for Teix.

The infielder type would be mostly crap, but Ramirez should be pitching in the majors right now, and Marquez and Horne are both good solid prospects with high upside. I’d love to package it around Ohlendorf but he’s injured.

  26. Cubs hater

….just like Robinson Cano, I should add.

  27. Drive 4-5

Pete – thanks for the video. I loved the line about the Golden Girls LOL.

Hey, it’s nice to see we have our sense of humor back. People should take it for what it is..a parody. It’s a lot easier for us to laugh these days.

I live in Massachusetts and lemme tell ya…the Red $ox nation is getting verrrrrry nervous!

  28. Skippy

A little long and needed some pacing, but a good effort.

  29. SJ44

I think you have to wait out the Teixiera stuff to the end.

The price is way too high at this time.

It has to be. If Jon Daniels (Texas GM) makes another bad deal, he is fired. So, he is going to look for a lot for him, if they deal him at all.

The Yankees aren’t trading Joba or Hughes for him. Cashman has already turned that stuff down, according to Kay.

Like Abreu last year, you just have to wait it out and see what happens.

If the price drops, you dive in. If it doesn’t, you pass. The Yankees won’t blow up the system to get him.

In the meantime, I believe Andy Phillips has to be considered for a callup. He is better than Phelps and can fill the bill when Cairo cools off.

They can’t go much longer with Phelps. He is a disaster at first base and his offense, while constantly praised in this blog, is not as advertised.

The bullpen? I gotta tell ya, the more and more I watch Edwar Ramirez, the more I like him. He has a funky pitch (a NASTY changeup) that could really mess up hitters.

He’s not an 8th inning type of guy. But, he can help this team if they need another arm in the 6th or 7th innings.

He would be the guy I recall (before Britton) if they either deal Farnsworth or another relief pitcher struggles.

Ramirez could be a guy you recall after the AS Break who becomes almost like a trade pickup if they give him a shot.

Now? No reason for it. The team is going well and you don’t mess with that by tinkering right now.

  30. Ricky Rios

Peter – if you Yanks sweep the Mets, I want you to shave your head…

If the Mets sweep the Yanks, I will mow my lawn…

    Deal?

  31. #9

That video was 3:30 minutes longer than it should have been.

  32. Green Tea Torre

I love how pete responds “Dirt Dogs?” as if he’s never heard of the site! I check dirtdogs every day, and I’m not afraid to admit it! It’s a great site, whether you like the sox or not (personally, I hate them). But if you enjoy reading about sports on the web and a good laugh, it’s worth checking out. Plus, half of their reporting is on the yankees anyway!

For other sports parody, I like http://www.thebrushback.com also.

  33. Bob in NC

How long does it take to come back from a groinectomy?

  34. Bob in NC

Roger’s contract in 2057 will allow him to leave the Yankees to witness the christenings of his great-grandsons Kameron, Kasey, Koyote and Kabbage.

  35. Barbara from CT.

I loved this. Yeah!! Mike B. Good Work !!! Saw this first on funnyordie.com…..

  36. Kathy from MA

Hey that guy is really cute. Is he single? And the guy playing Brian Cashman Jr. wasn’t bad either. Super funny video, the best yet !!!!! I love FUNNYORDIE.COM.
