Quickie question — I’m out here in the SF Bay Area and haven’t really been keeping track of the Yankees. I’m heading for the Yankees/Giants game on Friday evening, and was wondering: is Damon the usual DH? Was just wondering if he’ll end up spending Friday night on the bench instead of playing — I really enjoyed watching him when he was with the A’s a few years back…

It will be very interesting to see what Igawa can do next Saturday. Pitching against an NL team, no home run threats outside of Barry, in a fly-ball park. If he throws first-pitch strikes and doesn’t fall behind, he’ll do very well. It’s that simple. As for the bullpen, they really need to bring up Edwar Ramirez. There’s no way a guy who strikes out 15 per 9 doesn’t have at least some success in the majors. He may not be a Rincon/Shields level set-up man, but I can’t possibly see how he can’t be at least a very viable 7th inning, need-a-strikeout guy. Give him a few outings, see what happens. If he fails, send him back down. No use having Villone hoping it’s a blowout in either direction. Same goes for Britton, who should be ready to contribute in 7th inning. I like Bruney in the 8th.

Thanks Doreen, but that ship sailed. No longer a dad to be, I jumped the gun a bit. Hopefully next time it will work, in the meantime, I promise we’ll have fun trying and enjoy our us and the dog time.

Clip needs work, yes.

He is also 22 and a part of the Yanks’ FUTURE.

Unfortunately, he had to be part of the present….which he isn’t ready for yet.

Good commentary on Clippard by Darling and Hernandez (had to watch game on WPIX). There are things they like about Clippard, but both agreed that he was in the majors when he should be at AAA. True, but the injuries and Igawa’s earlier ineffectiveness created the situation where Clip is up a year or two too early.

Still, he is only 22.

Wow, they sure didn’t waste any time with Clip. But it’s best for everyone. Surely, he’s not ML ready but he got a lot of good experience, experience that will certainly help him in Scranton. I don’t think you can teach that kind of thing — the very real difference between AAA and the major leagues. I wish him well, whether it’s here with the Yankees at some point or with another team, because I think with a little work he’ll be good enough.

Okay, so let’s hope Igawa is ready.

These last two games were like from a time warp or something. Definitely out-of-whack. Roger could have used some of these runs yesterday, but actually, they were ALL needed today!

I just want to wish all you dads (and dads-to-be, Jeff NJ) a very happy Father’s Day tomorrow.

According to Yes Network, Clippard was sent to Scaranton after the game. Too bad it was not before he game. Clip needs a lot of work .

Global, don’t confuse “fluke” with “cluth”.

Beltran is a career .277 hitter with one postseason for the ages, and not much else but Boras hype. $117 million for that? Fuhgeddaboutit.

So?

He hit 8 Homeruns in 1 year with Houston. Then he hit 3 last year for the Mets.

He’s only been in the postseason a total of 2 years.

Would of loved to see Beltran signed in 2004 instead of signing the aging often injured Damon.
