We need pitching.

WE DONT NEED OFFENSE.

A bullpen arm or two. Or a starter. A half-decent one.

NO OFFENSE.

Marius,

You are the one who told me STFU. I have never said that to you.

You want to act like a punk, you will get treated like one.

On or off line, makes no difference to me.

You want to talk like that, be prepared to back it up.

Awful, awful, awful.

Not surprised we bring up Andy "man of God" Phillips and we hit the skids again.

Yeah, I know. The players and the media love him. He's a great guy. Salt of the eart. So f'ing what? The guy is not a major league ball player and has no business being on the Yankees. None. He can't hit and he's a low energy listless ballplayer with no fire, which describes most of the current Yankees right now.

Get a real player Cashman. Stop this madness. You have the worst bench in baseball which means when all the old overpaid stars get hurt, you have no options.

It's a disgrace when you see a team go cold and hot together like this. I mean, if Arod isn't carrying the team, they lose. That's about where we're at for the season.

This team should be tied for first with the Red Sox with the talent they have, but unless they can play with some passion and stop keeling over every single time they face a pitcher they have not faced before, we won't make the playoffs.

Whoever said the Yankee scouting sucks is right. I have never seen a team make mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young just because they never faced them before. I mean, LaTroy Hawkins got big outs against us. LaTroy f'ing Hawkains? We used to smack him around like he was the right handed Arthur Rhodes.

Cashman has a job to do and bringing up Andy Phillips ain't doing the job.

I saw the rumor about getting Hatteburg and that's a great idea and a step in the right direction. I also think bringing in Milton Bradley or trading for Elijah Dukes and all their baggage isn't a bad idea. We need right handed power, we need speed and athleticism...but most of all, we need players who don't curl up in the fetal position when Arod doesn't hit a home run. We need depth.

I was reading about how Edgardo Alfonso who is only 33 is playing in the independent league in Long Island and how he's showing flashes of being ready to get back to the big leagues.

You can't tell me that signing Alfonso and replacing him with Basak on this team wouldn't be a good idea. I know the guy sucked the last couple of years, but I also know he was a gamer who played with heart for the Mets and we could use him if he's got anything left which I bet he does. He never struck me as a steroid guy, so I think his dropoff was more about him leaving NY and his comfort zone. I mean, the guy took out a full page ad in the local papers thanking the NY fans when he left for SF.

Get me some veteran character guys who want to win, have some fire and can threaten people like Cano, Abreu, Matsui, Cabrera into performing consistently or getting benched.

I doubt anyone on that Yankee team is looking over their shoulders worrying about Thompson, Phillips, Basak and Nieves.

If the starters aren't going to be consistent, then we need back ups who can play. Not nice guys who go to church and the beat reporters love.

Right now, I would sign Alfonso, tell Bernie to get to Tampa and see what he has left, trade for Hatteburg (or Carlos Pena) and see if you can get a guy like Dukes or Milton.

Andy Phillips brings great clubhouse chemistry with him -- unfortunately that chemistry doesn't breed winning.

Make the starters play for their jobs again. Torre benched Tino, Boggs, etc. in the past and guys performed when they were called on. We need players with pride. I don't think we have enough of them right now.

Wikapedia is garbage.

Don't forget Andy went thru a very emotional time last year with his wife sick with cancer. Maybe that weighed on him. there is something there. Give the guy more than 5 ab's before you dump him again. And with our offense we shouldn't need his bat! What did Damon, Bobby do this series?

You were there. What the hell happened to this team during these three games?

Hey guys if we want to get an outfielder with attitude problems we should get Dukes from Tampa. He's a real whack job.

Jennifer, I see you read the wikipedia on him.
Yes, he did well in June, then hit .165 in July. In no way did Phillips carry the team nor was he the reason they made the playoffs.

The Yankees management will have to make some big decisions soon. Right now this is not a playoff team and probably will not be one. The only problem is that the players they have playing like Abreu and Damon have no trade value. Right now they have three players who have enough gas in the tank to build around AROD, Jeter, and Cano. The yankees are in a tough predicament. They will ahve to go all out for AROD.

SJ, I will happily tell you in person. I actually prefer it.

You are the one going on about signing Milton Bradley. A player no team has wanted when they saw how bad his attitude was.
You know some stuff but your arrogance is annoying and takes away from your knowledge. Wanna meet in person and I will happily tell you. I am not a violent person, but will happily discuss it with you in person over coffee like two mature adults. If you wanna fight, then take it elsewhere, tough guy. I don't use violence or need to back up my statments with violence. Not my way. Seems to be yours, tough guy.
