Still did get signed before the draft. He was signed after working out for Nardi in Scranton about 10 days before the draft. He is pretty raw, but has an electric arm. Fastball has been up to 97, hitting 95 multiple times. He is 6'3" 195lbs and has an athletic pedigree. Uncle is Art Still the multi-Pro Bowl DE for the KC Chiefs and cousin is Deron Cherry multi-Pro Bowl Safety for KC Chiefs. Alexy is built like a DB, but loves baseball.

Dan-Who said he was a power pitcher? I didnt. Who says you have to be a power pitcher? Guys with less stuff who are just as successful are better pitchers anyway because they cant just let it rip. They have to use their head and be able to hit corners.

Peter-This Michael Hyde guy sounds like a steal as an UDFA. Do you know anything about him?

ERA W-L APP GS CG SHO/CBO SV IP H R ER BB SO 2B 3B HR AB B/Avg WP HBP BK SFA SHA

3.35 10-2 19 16 0 0/1 0 83.1 76 41 31 30 63 16 1 3 304 .250 5 9 0 4 7

Pretty good stats. Here's his bio.---->
http://seminoles.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/hyde_michael00.html

2007: Appeared in 19 games, starting 16 games, while posting a career-high 10 wins for the Seminoles in 2007...finished his Seminole career with a mark of 26-5...registered just three losses in his last 49 appearances, a span including 36 starts...had his consecutive innings streak without giving up a run end at 18.2 innings (dating back to last season) against UNC Asheville...kept an opponent scoreless in two straight starts against Indiana and Wake Forest...had another scoreless streak of 13.2 innings come to an end against BC...finished second on the team with two pick-offs...worked into the fifth inning in 11 of his 16 starts in 2007...pitched a season-high seven innings against BC...did not allowed a run in five of his 16 starts...tied a season-high with his ninth win of the season against Maryland in game two...set a career-high for wins in a season (10) as he lead the Seminoles to their only victory in the ACC Tournament, an 11-2 win over Wake Forest...made three relief appearances in 2007.

He's 6-1, 192 LBS. and throws and bats with his right hand.

IMO he sounds like a much better player than your average undrafted pitcher. Good signing.
