Other thoughts-

Get rid of Bruney. He's been a disaster since the Yankees got him. He walks too many batters. Wow he throws 95 mph, big deal. He can't control his fastball. If that happens, then call up Britton.

How about finding another 2B? Cano is sloppy and lethargic at times. Find someone who can play the position better than him.

Master Wangkee, the Yanks are not "rebuilding." And payroll obviously doesn't matter to the Yanks. Yes, they're trying to hang on to young players (particularly pitchers), but they will still be signing high-priced free agents and trying to remain in contention. Cano (and Melky) are attractive to other teams precisely because of their age and contract status. The question the Yanks have to ask themselves is, will Cano ever be the type of impact hitter who can actually help them win? Yeah, he has a sweet swing, but meaningless base hits to left don't mean much when he's giving away most of his at-bats swinging at the first pitch he sees. He does nothing in the clutch, and pitchers know they don't have to give in to him to get him out. He'll get himself out. Can anyone remember the last hit he had that actually meant something? I can't. We've lost a ton of power from last year, and need a power hitter (DH, 1B), someone to drive in runs behind ARod (or in front of ARod, considering Abreu has turned to crap again). If Cano can help get that, I'm all for it.

The neo-fascist Yankee dress-and-haircut code was Damon's undoing. How do you expect to win in the 21st century when the owner thinks it's still 1958?

HMMM Wheres that EDWARD guy??

I agree that trading Cano at his young age would be a mistake given that The Yankees have no talented position players ready.
But I would listen to offers,if I got a young good position player back in a deal.
The Muts have 3 secondbasemen this season.

Five weeks from tommorow is the Trading Deadline...a lot could happen.

Fine, I'll ask it. Why would a Red Sox fan keep posting on a Yankee blog??

Can you please get a life Brian. Or is that too much to ask?

Hmm.

Pete.

I wonder what Joe Torre will say to you the next time you meet.

This actually raises a very interesting issue. Bloggers can say things like Torre should retire. Farnsworth stinks. Does this impact your effectiveness as a beat reporter? Can players and coaches say "oh I know he said something not objective but that was in his role as a blogger."
