You need to get rid of Farnsworth as fast as you can. While your at it, get rid of Scott Procter as well. These two idiots do not know how to pitch.

I'd really love to get a guy like Figgins who is as fast as the wind and can play 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF. He's not the best player by any means but he'd be a monster off the bench for us.

Regarding Fransworth, many are saying that he should not be upset about being lifted for Maraiano. I sincerely believe that no one in tha bullpen, including Fransworth, gets upset if Mo is coming to replace him. Fransworth was not upset for that reason.

He is either upset at himself or at Torre. It is more likely that he is upset at Torre, for not giving him the opportunity to finish the Job. Yesterday was a difficult situation for Torre to let him continue as he could not afford to tie the game on a single or lose it on a double.

If he is upset at Torre, you could see it coming from any one from the bullpen, not named Mo. Just like many here are upset with Torre's bullpen moves, these players are upset too, more so. Except that they do not speak up because of potential consequences. We, the arm chair pundits can say any thing we want without any consequences! Did you notice the facial expressions of Vizcaino when was getting lifted during his bad streatch? He was not stupid enough to say some thing or show Toree up. Kyle did that because either he is stupid or he thinks he had enough of Torre. Remember he was lifted like this many times before and he did not do any thing like this.

It is interesting to see how it goes from here. They can not trade him now as they get nothing back. As much as many want to dump him here, that is not how it works in the practical world. See what happened with Vizcaino when he was going bad.

Most likely they will give him a stern warning and not use him for a while or use him only in games out of hand either way.

Doreen, thanks for bringing the Jeter article to our attention. NY is a tough place swarming with media 24/7 and the public thinks it knows everything that's going on because of that. Obviously, there are still people who value privacy and don't need to have their name in the headlines for negative actions, like Farnsworth, but would prefer to act in a professional way. I would never doubt Derek Jeter's sincerity or his will to win - he's the consummate baseball player. Let's hope that the other Yankees keep hearing his message and start playing up to their potential too.

Bergen Record- Bob Klapisch on Robinson Cano:

Without the numbers to back him up, Cano's cool becomes transparent; his flaws are more obvious today than a year ago. He doesn't run particularly well. He doesn't get on base enough. He doesn't swing at enough strikes.

The Yankees, however, insist they have no problem with Cano's future or his intensity level. Cashman says: "I know for a fact that kid cares about us winning and losing and the way he's playing. If anything, he cares too much. He's trying too hard."

The numbers seem to bear out that sentiment, as he sees only 3.37 pitches per plate appearance, the fewest among the Yankees. The majority of Cano's at-bats are over in just one or two pitches. Call it anxiety or pressure -- or fear of striking out -- but Cano hacks at the first good pitch he sees, a philosophy that runs counter to the Yankees' system-wide indoctrination.

Why, exactly, does Cano become so anxious? The second baseman shook his head and said: "Because I'm trying to make things happen all at once. I know it's a bad thing. I know I have to be more patient. I'm trying."

I don't know what Jeter says to his teamates in the clubhouse and really don't care. He has always led by example on the field and what better way to lead? He has his flaws like all ballplayers but he is absolutely the guy you want on your team when the chips are down. He personifies yankee pride.
