Results of A-Rod’s MRI: Normal

Posted by: Peter Abraham - Posted in Misc on Jul 05, 2007 Print This Post Print This Post | Email This Post Email This Post

Joe Torre said after the game that Alex Rodriguez’s MRI is “normal” and didn’t show anything.

The plan is to have him back in the starting lineup tomorrow night. No word on what he will do in terms of the All-Star Game.

Back later with some audio.

Thanks for the update, Pete. I guess it was precautionary b/c a player who plays in the field the very next day wouldn’t have a serious injury. And of course, he’ll play tomorrow and he’ll play well. He’s facing Moreno, I mean, the Angels. (Warning: that was just a joke, so stay cool all you sensitive A-rod fans)

Wow, great news, I guess there is A-God!

    Eric,

    Good one.

    Big Question:

would you leave ‘Zilla at clean up and bat ARod 5th?

I don’t think it would hurt to try it, but everybody is so sensitive about where they bat. Reggie and Billy used to fight over that, all the time.

    Dr.Ac -

    No, I’d still put A-Rod at clean-up.

    Mel’s joke-

I had to look this up, so being a regular guy, I figure, I am not the only person who missed Mel’s reference.

_He’s facing Moreno_ means Angels paymaster Arte Moreno, who gave an interview 4 weeks ago saying he didn’t want to pursue ARod, if he “opts out”:http://www.pe.com/sports/baseb.....d5957.html

Who knows if he was speaking the truth or playing possum.

Thanks for the update Pete. We could use all our guys to stay healthy. Especially our big hitters. It’s also good we have others to step up when a player is hurt. I like that…called team work. Cano has been playing pretty well it’s always good to have other members of the team step up. They all should anyway since we seem to have been struggling lately.

Pete any word on Doug’s progress? I haven’t heard what’s going on with him lately.

Normal??? It’s supposed to say “godly.”

  9. Dr. Acula July 5th, 2007 at 6:14 pm

    Doreen-

I found this recent clip of ARod working on his lower torso, before the game. Let me tell ya, it’s sexy. I’ll upload it and post the link in tomorrow’s game thread.

You guys have got to read this. I have no patience for people who ruin their lives with drugs, but the Josh Hamilton story has really gripped me. Warning, you may need some tissue, especially if you’re still emotional from today’s game.

  11. Global Warming- I love Matsui July 5th, 2007 at 6:29 pm

    I like

    3 Jeter
    4 A-Rod
    5 Matsui

I do have sympathy for people who ruin their lives with drugs.

After the Yankees sweep the Angels and A-Rod rests during the All-Star break and does NOT play….the 43-42 Yankees will go 57-20 during the 2nd Half and SHOCK THE WORLD with another 100 game season….OR….they won’t…(wink) Great news on A-Rod though….

  14. backstreets July 5th, 2007 at 7:07 pm

I think A-Rod was hoping Torre would let him miss playing against The Angels. :)

    Here’s a joke:

Q: How many pitches does it take to knock J.P. Howell out of a game?

    A: 43 pitches/10 Red Sox faced/.2IP/6H/6ER

What’s the punchline? Howell’s ERA is still lower than Igawa’s.

  16. jennifer July 5th, 2007 at 8:19 pm

    Mel that is pretty sad!

  17. bd July 5th, 2007 at 8:59 pm

I may be in the minority here, but is nobody else furious at the Yankees for letting ARod play on Tuesday and Wednesday with a hammy that OBVIOUSLY wasn’t 100%?

  18. pat m July 5th, 2007 at 10:28 pm

A-Rod will be looking forward to playing vs. Anahiem….He owns Bartola Colon…..If the Yanks can win this series they very well may believe that they make a serious playoff run in the 2nd half

Great news about Alex! Now the Angels are in town. The Angels are the best AL contender that could be in the WS. This is the team to beat.
