WOW, it’s amazing how many non-Yankee fans come of the woodwork when the Yankees aren’t doing so well. I guess your hatred for the Yankees run deep. Thank you for making your presence known. It is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, if and when your team gets to the World Series:

1)try not to choke

2)try to field your position

3)try not to let a rookie beat you who in following season is 0-10 with a 6.40 ERA.

There is no doubt in my mind that Abreu is the real catalyst to the Yankee offense. I’ve been saying that as Abreu goes, the Yankees go for a while now.

I kinda disagree, sort of. Yeah, he does see pitches and works the count to allow A-Rod and whoever else to look at what the pitcher throws from the batter’s box. But we should take into account that Damon and Cano aren’t play to the back of their baseball cards. Also, Giambi isn’t here. He does give us a pulse.

You have apparently forgotten not only 1978 (14 game comeback to break Boston’s heart and win the WS), but 1995 as well (when the Yankees, still under .500 in late August, won 27 of their final 33 to claim the wild card).

I doubt you can write off the Yankees yet.

They spent $210 million dollars (much of it generated on local broadcasting revenue that they basically steal from other teams because of a weak US Congress) – and they play poor underfunded teams more than 1/2 of the remainder of the season.

It would take a total incompetent job by Torre/Cashman not to make the playoffs.

Of course, I said that before and they managed to find a way to

1) lose to a team that had never made the World Series (2002);

2) lose to a team with 1/4 the payroll (2003);

3) lose to a team by blowing a 3-0 lead (2004);

4) lose to a team that hadn’t had a winning season in 13 years and had 1/3 of the payroll;

So who knows? They have proven the depths of their incompetency many times before.

Ian kennedy had another good performance tonight in trenton / AA ball. When do realistically expect him to make the majors? Throw him and jaba in the bullpen for home stretch.
