Well, all of you who were advocating for Shelley Duncan have your wish.

Ramirez will probably get sent down temporarily for DeSalvo; but they’ll have to send someone else down for Duncan. The only candidate for that is Thompson. Unless they’re also going to DL Damon, but I think that would have been part of the news.

I have my doubts that Shelley will hit ML hitting, but, I sure hope I’m wrong!

I’m not saying they deserve to play. I cringe as much as you when they come waddling out of the bullpen. I’m just saying that you don’t just kick veterans to the curb in bunches. Unfortunately, the Jeters, Wangs, and Bradys of the world sometimes have to wait until there’s an injury to get their chance.

It’s going to be the rookie. Even though it doesn’t make sense to us fans, you don’t just send down veterans. Just like you don’t sit a healthy Damon or have Posada pinch hit for Cano for the final out. Players are already wary of the media, do you think they’ll want to come here if the club mistreats veterans?
