Pete does have a good voice. He needs to take over for Kay, ASAP….. “And here comes Krazy Kyle!…”

  12. Dave K July 27th, 2007 at 4:38 pm

    Pete-

That was great to listen to, thanks. Also I’m sure it will generate more traffic to the blog (hopefully positive traffic rather than “Yankees Suck” traffic)

  13. dadofjft July 27th, 2007 at 4:39 pm

When they activate Hughes from the 60-day DL, someone is going to have to go from the 40-man. Is Colter Bean the overwhelming favorite to bid adieu? He’s older and had more chances than Sardinha or Reese, so my money’s on him.

BTW, nice interview Pete. Thanks for posting it.

  14. Peter Rabbit July 27th, 2007 at 4:39 pm

I can’t find Pete’s interview on the radio website? What’s it titled under?

  15. Vinny July 27th, 2007 at 4:42 pm

    Great Job Pete !!!
Good to hear your voice. You should be a broadcaster.
Thanks for letting us know about the interview.
Good output on the interview as well.

  16. Dave K July 27th, 2007 at 4:45 pm

Where can I find a listing of who is on the 40 man?

Is it so that anytime they add someone such as Joba or Kennedy or that someone comes off the DL to be active again (Hughes/Karstens) – that to be added to the 40 man – someone currently on the roster must be put on waivers?

  17. Bob in NC July 27th, 2007 at 4:45 pm

Thank you, Brian Cashman, for sending Igawa down to Scranton. Now please don’t bring him back.

Igawa is Japanese for “Holy Crap”

  18. hmmm July 27th, 2007 at 4:46 pm

you had better do as you are told, you better listen to the radio.

  19. Dave K July 27th, 2007 at 4:47 pm

Forget it, I found the 40-man and got my questions answered via Wikipedia

  20. hmmm July 27th, 2007 at 4:52 pm

“Where can I find a listing of who is on the 40 man? ”

    yankees.com

“Is it so that anytime they add someone such as Joba or Kennedy or that someone comes off the DL to be active again (Hughes/Karstens) – that to be added to the 40 man – someone currently on the roster must be put on waivers?”

this depends. if they are on the 60 day DL, they are not counted as one of the 40. if their spot was filled with someone else, then yes, another spot would have to be made.

if i counted correctly, there are 46 players on the 40 man and 7 are on the 60 day DL. so when Hughes comes back, there would be a spot for him without having to put anyone on waivers.

yes, Bean or Reese seem like the next 2 guys who will be put on waivers should they need a spot.

  21. Dave K July 27th, 2007 at 4:57 pm

Thanks. I’m heading to Baltimore to watch the game(s) in a bar tonight, and go to tomorrow/Sunday’s game.

    Enjoy the games everyone

  22. Stuart July 27th, 2007 at 5:00 pm

Pete.. Great job on the interview..You do a great job.

Thanks… I know your job can be a grind at times but many yankee fans like myself would love to do what you do.

    Thanks again..

  23. I Have Fleas July 27th, 2007 at 5:05 pm

Everyone is focusing on Igawa’s disaster last night, but we need not to forget that the Yankees had plenty of chances to scoree and failed. Sure, K.C. did make some great plays during the game, but they weren’t facing Santana, or any other great arm…

See guys, I am about to get excited saying, “YES! The Yankee’s can do it!” However, I was about to do that last time and the bat’s got cold. Last night reminds me of their struggles.

    What do you guys think?

  24. KAJ July 27th, 2007 at 5:09 pm

I Have Fleas…did you see the game ?…I am not for making excuses, but it sure looked like Igawa was getting squeezed while our hitters were getting strikes called on them that were well out of the zone. We took 3 out of 4. Focus on that….we had one bad game and 3 fantastic games….That is what I think….others ?

  25. Bob in NC July 27th, 2007 at 5:13 pm

    Pete,

Excellent interview. Wish you had a daily or weekly radio show in addition to the blog.

If they can’t trade Farnsworthless or Sparky Proctor, will they send Henn back down to make room for Karstens in the bullpen?

  26. dadofjft July 27th, 2007 at 5:14 pm

    hmmm,

Right you are. I hadn’t bothered to count because I thought you couldn’t put a player on the 60-day unless you were at the limit on the 40-man. So they might have another week or two before having to make a decision.
