I'm glad to see Will Nieves throw out a runner. I thought that was the real impressive thing in this post.

What's the deal with Edwar Ramirez? Why isn't he ever mentioned when it comes to improving the bullpen? He didn't get a fair shot last time he was here and all he's done is go back down to Scranton and dominate.

"What are we supposed to do then, throw something at him?"--LOL

"Does any reporter (including yourself) actually grill Torre on his use of Vizcaino in these blowout games? The NY media is so soft on Clueless Joe it makes me sick."

Peter, does reporter (including yourself) grill Joe about what his role was in keeping the team together during the very difficult stretches this season, or about how well they are playing now?

It's easy to throw $7 million away when it's not your money. They are not just dumping a guy who makes good money and has, in theory, good stuff. Even if that guy is Kyle Farnsworth. I don't see why that's so hard to understand. And really, has he been less effective than Myers has been? I don't think so. The sad state of the Yankees bullpen currently is that Farnsworth is not their least effective reliever.

Just for the record, the radar gun at PNC Field in Scranton is a little on the slow side. If Joba sat at 97, he probably was more like 98 or 99.

If Farnsworth clears waivers we should just release him and be done with it...he will never be able to be trusted even if he turns it around and has a few 1-2-3- innings in a row (which I doubt)...he is just taking up space.....forget the money (easy for me to say :) and move on and bring up Jaba and see what we got...and Miguel Cairo needs to go, not Duncan, his bat is too valuable against lefties, 1 of our weaknesses all year, lefty pitchers......finally I know its easy to second guess and I have wanted Torre fired and wanted Pinella or Bobby Valentine to manage this team...but why is Vizcaino in a game with a 10 run lead, shouldn't he rest for a closer game and why doesn't someone in the organization take Torre to task for Sturtze, Quantrill, and Proctor overuse...its like a big joke around baseball by all writers about the overuse of these guys and yet Torre still does it...it just doesn't make sense this beating up of relief pitchers....I read alot of different baseball columns and I have read about 15 different writers make jokes about this matter and Vizcaino pitching yesterday keeps the joke running, and running....

I think there is a strong possibility that Damon gets traded by the end of August. He will clear waivers most definetly and this will allow Melky to remain in CF and Giambi to DH.

Steve: I think we should expect that our hitters can do their own baserunning, however long it might take them at times. *coughmolinacough* keeping a guy who, now, rots on the bench over a guy in a platoon mix swinging a hot bat is silly.

Gamera: what's Boston's record in 15-run blowouts? ;)
