Sorry, no audio tonight. Nobody really had much to say.

For Chien-Ming Wang, it was the shortest start of his career and the most runs he has allowed. He said it was his worst start since 2004 when he gave up 10 runs in one inning while pitching for Class AA Trenton.

Wang, Joe Torre and Ron Guidry all said that his poor performance was not the result of any injury.

“He just got his ass kicked,” Torre said.

With Detroit losing, the Yankees remain a half-game out in a tight wild-card race.

Wild-card standings
Seattle 62-49
Detroit 63-50
Yankees 63-51
