Here is the lineup:

YANKEES
Damon DH
Jeter SS
Abreu RF
Rodriguez 3B
Matsui LF
Cano 2B
Betemit 1B
Molina C
Cabrera CF
Hughes RHP

Pregame chatter: Nothing yet, waiting to meet with Joe Torre. Back later.

UPDATE, 6:09 p.m.: Travis Hafner is out of the lineup for Cleveland. … Chien-Ming Wang will start on Monday. Tuesday will be Jeff Karstens or a minor leaguer. No word on the rest of the week. Clemens could return on Wednesday. … Andy Phillips has a minor knee issue, hence Wilson Betemit playing. … The Indians will all wear No. 14 tonight in honor of Larry Doby.

UPDATE, 7:09 p.m.: I see in the comments you guys are chatting about Igawa reportedly being claimed by the Padres. Just FYI: Virtually every player in baseball gets puts on waivers in August. It really doesn’t mean much. Many teams do it just to gauge interest. If the Padres were the only team that claimed Igawa, they could become a trading partner. But given their $46 million investment, the Yankees would either want the Padres to assume a lot of that money or send them a good prospect or two. I don’t think the Yankees are yet at the point of totally giving up on the guy.

UPDATE, 7:38 p.m.: Here is part of Joe Torre’s pregame press conference:

UPDATE, 7:39 p.m.: Three straight hits off Carmona and the Yankees let him off the hook by bunting. That only encouraged Molina to ground out or hit a fly ball. I don’t like the bunt in most cases but especially in the second inning of an AL game. Let Betemit hit.

UPDATE, 8:37 p.m.: That’s a 15-game streak for the Melkman.

UPDATE, 8:48 p.m.: This has the Franchise for 6, Joba for 1, the Viz for 1 and Mo for 1 written all over it.

UPDATE, 9:10 p.m.: Here you go, Yankees 2.0. Hughes followed by Chamberlain. This should be very interesting.

UPDATE, 9:15 p.m.: Hey, a relief pitcher who throws strikes. What a concept. Nobody warming for the Yanks, Joba could be out there for the 8th inning.

UPDATE, 9:37 p.m.: I’m going out on a limb here and say that making Joba a reliever for the rest of this season was a good idea. Holy cow.
