The Yankees twice rallied but fell to the Angels in the 10th inning.

Jose Molina has a new view of the Yankees now that he is a part of the team. This notebook also catches up with Edwar Ramirez.

Kyle Farnsworth has regained the edge that led to the Yankees wanting him in the first place. Like it or not, the Yankees need him.

I had heard an interview Molina did with Kim Jones a little while ago and he basically said the same thing – that he thought he was going to find a lot of stuck up superstars (my words, not his) and was totally surprised that the Yankees are more like a family (those were his words). This is due in no small part to Joe Torre. He represents a father figure and handles each player as an individual, big star or utility guy, they all get respect. Nobody is perfect, but Torre has the right mentality for a very tough job. He doesn’t deserve the personal criticism thrown at him this year. Disagree with some of his managerial moves, absolutely, but don’t ever bad mouth him as a man.

I will reserve my judgement on the Angels effect on THIS Yankees team after the next 2 games are over. Yankees showed a lot of heart last night, only to fall with Henn on the mound ( NOT one of the best pitchers, right ? ). Despite what many will say, we can take these next 2 games with continued hitting and our starters stepping up and having good ( not great )...but 2 good games. I may make it to the game on Weds Night….so come on Yankees…take one back tonight to be in a position to take the series on Wednesday….this is most definitely doable !

Melky must dive for that ball in the 10th inning. Watch the replay: The ball was close enough to him that if he left his feet he might have caught it.

    Farnsworth was horrific last night.

Buried down at the end of your notebook was that the Yanks signed Jose Cruz Jr. I always liked this guy and always wanted the Yanks to get him. In my mind he is a Yankee killer, so it’s good to have him on our side.

I like reading about Edwar Ramirez. I think hes going under the radar with Phil and Joba in the spotlight right now.

I don’t think Joe should use Edwar and Joba on the same day. Have one of them work the day the others resting. I hink that would work out nicely.

I understand Vizcaino asked off the Sunday game due to tiredness. I don’t know whom they would’ve used instead of Vizcaino in the Angels game Mon. night, but this doesn’t sound good. Also, is Abreu too frequently almost colliding with Melky out there as happened in this game?

I don’t think they’ve come that close to colliding, but I suppose they are still getting comfrotable with each other out there… Melky hasn’t been the everyday CF for to long.. That might have something to do with it…

They’re still trying to get an idea on who can reach what balls and who’s got the range and such to some degree I’d think.
