Pettitte coming in on a good roll

Andy Pettitte’s last four starts:

28 innings
27 hits
7 earned runs
9 walks
22 strikeouts
4-0, 2.25

He’s also 11-6 in his career against the Angels.

This game is an easy one to call. Pettitte pitches well, Joba strikes out a few more, A-Rod entertains Scott Boras and Arte Moreno with one more home run and the Yankees pick up a game on the Mariners (who are finally losing today).

A couple of other stats of no particular significance:

Derek Jeter has grounded into 19 double plays, one off his career worst. Only Aaron Hill, Mark Teahen and Manny Ramirez have more in the AL. They each have 20.

Wilson Betemit 32 ABs as a Yankee and 15 RBI. Just for Scott Proctor?

Hideki Matsui has hit safely in 41 of his last 45 games.

Back later with the lineup.
