According to mlb.com:
#5 Galvin 365
#6 Spahn 363
#7 Nichols 361
#8 Clemens 354

So it's 8 to pass Nichols for 7th, 10 to pass Spahn for 6th and 12 to pass Galvin for 5th. Regardless, I agree that passing Spahn for the post-war mark is Clemens' holy grail.

You know the more and more I hear Clemens talk the more I feel like this has been the hardest season he's ever had. I cant see him ever pitching again. It sounds like its a major struggle to get his body to perform 20 years younger than it really is.

You know, I agree with those that want the division. It's not out of reach. We had a bad week against Anaheim and Detroit, but, truth be told, I don't know if anyone expected much different--Anaheim always kills us, and we put Moose on the mound in Detroit when he's clearly been having so many problems.

Still, we have Tampa after this, and then Seattle, who I'm pretty sure we can beat.

October 1st is certainly going to be one of the more interesting days on the calendar....

"Donut Boy" Schilling rarely hits 90 on the gun. Still thinks he's No. 1 on Boston's staff.

Wang 4 more wins
andy 4
clemens 3
huges 2
others 5(includes bullpen)

then yankees 74+18=92 wins
could lead wild card

"Since winning Game 6 in 2003, Beckett has an 8.10 ERA against the Yanks in seven starts."
"Josh Beckett is 3-3, 7.49 against the Yankees since Game 6 in 2003."

I assume this newer number 7.49 is the correct one? Anyways still funny. Matsuzaka has a nice 6.98 ERA vs the Yankees. I'll face their top 2 any day of the week.

The division is still very much in play here despite what some might say, although it is admittedly unlikely. The Yanks need 5/6 to make a legitimate run here. They already got 2 of those 6 against the so called Aces of the Sux staff. With this formula, the Yanks would only need to make up one lousy game a week for the tie. If get hot right now, it is a very real possibility we could rip the Sux heart out as the season expires.

At 6 out with 4 to play against a team we recently have had great success against, this 'far fetched' notion is no longer beyond our grasp. Wang must continue this impressive run of starts.

Watching a 40 something Rocket take a no hitter past the halfway point tonight was worth his signing.

Pete, on a side note, the real value of having the Rocket will come in the post-season regardless of what his record right now is. I also noticed his velocity was up a mile or two tonight. Any thoughts why that might be the case?
