Mariners losing again

Seattle is down 3-0 in the fifth inning in Cleveland.

If they lose, that would be six straight followed by a trip to Toronto to face Shawn Marcum tomorrow night.

Meanwhile the Yankees face Andy Sonnanstine, Edwin Jackson and Jason Hammel the next three days.

The Yankees all but refuse to talk about the wild card. They’re playing only to try and catch Boston. That was the tact Joe Torre took in the dark days of June and it has served them well. If you lessen expectaions, you get lesser results.
