A few notes on today’s win:

Alex Rodriguez jammed his left shoulder in the third inning when he slid headfirst into second base after a wild pitch. But he said he was fine. He had a two-run double in his next at-bat.

Ian Kennedy will get another start, obviously. He told us his parents, grandparents, sister, fiancee and a few college buddies were in the crowd. Kennedy said that keeping his poise was the key to the outing for him.

Love this kid, Kennedy. Chamberlain and Kennedy have the confidence that will make them successful in the big leagues. Kennedy goes right at the hitters. He will be a good pitcher for the Yankees.

I liked Arod’s comment about his headfirst slide-I’ve got to stop doing that,” A-Rod said. “I’ve got to start going feetfirst. It’s a little smarter.” Pete Abe must have smiled at that comment.
