Hopefully he is OK. He may not have pitched well over the last few starts but he has been an important piece for us this year. We have to hope he only misses one start but must be ready for him to miss the rest of the year. Hopefully Mussina can step up his game 5 days from now. This puts us in a position that we have to rely on Hughes and Kennedy as we have no other options. The whole staff has to pick up the slack, also the offense needs to pick up big time. I know our pitching was not great but they kept us in the games against Tampa for the most part. They should put up 10 runs against Tampa’s pitching. This team needs to play at the next level to make up for Clemens if they want to make the playoffs.

Seattle ends its 11 game losing streak. And doing it against the Yankees. Like I said before, teams and players always seem to end their slumps by playing against the Yankees. Beautiful. Beautiful.

    Let’s go Mariners!

OK, I’m re-posting my post from the previous thread (since I didn’t notice Pete had started a new one!):

It’s a marvel the Yanks have won 76 games thus far with this club. That is to say, even with a patchwork and mostly past-its-prime starting staff, a non-existent bullpen (until Joba showed up) and an offense that is completely feast-or-famine, they’ve still managed to compile a decent record (and are still in contention for the WC). It’s something to marvel at, really!

Hopefully this can only mean good things for next year. After all, I can’t envision the starting staff or the bullpen being this bad again next year (do your work, Cashman!), even though the offense is bound to stay the same.

Yanks are now 7-10 in Clemens’ starts. I don’t know how that makes him an important part of this team, but hey to each his own. Hopefully he is imparting knowledge to the young guys, because his pitching, while not bad, is not blowing anybody away.

In response to *Seattle*…the M’s losing streak was 9 games, not 11. A real Mariners fan would have known that. You’ve obviously come here to annoy us.

You should worry more about the remaining games you have against the Angels than the ones you have against the Yankees. Those may determine whether your team plays baseball or golf in October.

    I’m glad Joe ,
addressed the fact that two or more times men were on 3rd ,one or no outs, and nobody able to bring them home.It was frustrating to watch, I kept waiting for the sacrifice.
