In response to assorted e-mails, no, I don’t yet know the results of the MRI on Roger Clemens.
Given that it’s a holiday, I suspect the Yankees won’t reveal the news until tomorrow when they’ve had some time to confirm the findings, etc.
I’m still surprised the Yankees allowed him to pitch. I had heard last week that Clemens had elbow issues and he mentioned, “I’m dealing with some stuff” after his last start. But he’s enough of a veteran to determine how he feels and whether he should pitch.
If the Rocket is out for any amount of time, the Yankees will be going with Pettitte and Wang and Pray Nothing Goes Wrong. Not what you want in a pennant race.
