Welcome to another edition of “I give away the stuff they give me at games.”

Today we have two prizes. They’re Yankee mouse pads! This fine item has a photo of a team batting helmet and says “Where Players Become Legends.” As mouse pads go, they would make fine coasters. But we at the blog cannot be responsible for the stuff they give away at the Stadium.

To win a mouse pad, you have to be one of the first two people to answer this trivia question correctly:

Who is the only Yankee to have played with Mickey Mantle and Don Mattingly?

(Previous winners please give somebody else a chance)

UPDATE, 3:51 a.m.: We have two winners. Mouse pads are en route to Indiana and California. With that, I am going to bed. The answer was Bobby Murcer.

How about we start doing these contests a little earlier? You know, so actual Yankees fans can have a chance at winning.

  14. GUY September 5th, 2007 at 8:51 am

That was the Yankees trivia question they had at the stadium. Come on Peter!

  15. Richard September 5th, 2007 at 8:59 am

    another trivia question:
the diet coke you see in the picture was pete’s ______ of the day.

first one to guess correctly gets…the empty bottle!

  16. Richard September 5th, 2007 at 9:02 am

sorry the undescore didn’t come thru.
i meant: “was pete’s (what number) of the day.”

_You know, so actual Yankees fans can have a chance at winning._

I went to my first Yankee game in 1972, top that, hotshot

geez Pete way to steal the trivia question from the game last night, ha ha

  19. Victor the Predictor September 5th, 2007 at 9:16 am

Phil Hughes will pitch a decent 7 innings tonight and the firepower available in the bullpen with Thursday a day off. The Yankees will travel to K.C. feeling better about themselves with no interest of a letdown like last week.

    Mousepads?
We don’t need no stinkin’ mousepads.
    Give us squirrel-pads!!

    Dr Acula,

You go back as far as I do. My first game(s). 1971, June 28th. Doubleheader vs. the Red Sox. Yaz hit a homer. Munson hit one two rows in front of me, I think it was his first ever. I got chills when I walked into the stadium. I was a city kid and had honestly never seen grass so green in my life. Amazing day.

Who got the empty Diet Coke bottle?
