Of the 2 "New York" area voters assigned to vote on the 2006 AL MVP, one of them did not vote Derek Jeter #1. That was Ed Price of the Star Ledger.

dontfirecash,

Awesome finish. Overtime, UH scores on 2 plays, LaTech answers with 6 and decided to go for 2. UH knocked down the pass. Hawaii wins 45-44.

J-Dawg - Yes, I'm surrounded by Cardinal fans, but there are quite a few Yankee fans. When non-Yankee fans ask me, "How can you be from the South and support the Yankees?" I always say, "How can you not?" Maybe someday we'll be lucky enough to see the Yankees in New York in all their pinstriped glory!

GO YANKEES!!!

Sherri- The Yankee tradition is definitely the greatest in sports. There's actually a decent bit of Yankees fans where I'm from, even though there are mainly Braves and Cardinals fans. My girlfriend loves the Braves and she laughs at me for being a Yankee fan, but I'm trying to convert her! Being a Yankee fan has been a tradition in my family for over 50 years. I had a great-grandfather who absolutely idolized Mickey Mantle. Your son is in the same position as me, I've always dreamed of going to see them at Yankee Stadium!

Brandon,

Or Wordkemper, or Cox, or Ohlendorf, or Betances, or …
------------------------------------

the other 3 I understand but Wordkemper I see him good vs LHB but not a closer, Angel Reyes is a different story for the future :D

J-Dawg - Our coach is a joke, too (HDN and the AD) It's been a rough year, and D-Mac has been one of the few shining spots in the program. The game with Alabama will be very telling for both sides, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes! I can't say anything bad about 'Bama. They have a respected program with lots of history.

Much the same reason I love the Yankees!! I love the history surrounding the team, and baseball is my family's favorite sport! Sadly, the closest the Yankees come to us is KC, and we have gone there to see them play. Luckily, last year, we got 1st row seats right to the left of the Yankee dugout. I got some incredible pictures, and the whole night was surreal. For the most part though, we just love them from afar! My son begs me all the time to take him to New York! (maybe someday)

For all of Edwar's "problems" no one's explained how he's struck 21 guys in (now) 14.1 innings. Yeah, he walks too many (8 BB), but I'd rather look at the potential. And if that's the baseline!!! Heck I'd take that 13.45 K/9 with 3 BB/9 (now at 5 BB/9).

"Rebecca--Nothing Beats the Power of Optimism + Squirrel
September 8th, 2007 at 9:23 pm
So it seems that today the Yankees pretended the sixth was the seventh and the seventh was the sixth.

Fine by me, the result’s still the same!"

Rebecca, remember that the game wa in KC, in the Central Time Zone. That means the seventh inning in Eastern Time Zone becomes the sixth inning in Central Time Zone ;-)
