I want to know where we can get “Joba Rules” shirts. Thanks!

  2. Shamus September 11th, 2007 at 3:03 pm

    I want one!

  3. DadinIowa September 11th, 2007 at 3:03 pm

I hope he pitches tonight, with a lead. Or, better yet, he doesn’t pitch because we are so far ahead, and we get to see one of the rookies we called up. Go yanks.

“in a bullpen far far away” – makes no sense. No thanks, I’ll make my own instead.

  5. chris September 11th, 2007 at 3:05 pm

ugly shirt, who would buy that?

  6. Rockin' Rich September 11th, 2007 at 3:08 pm

I’d trade a copy of the Springsteen album for one. XL, please.

  7. migames September 11th, 2007 at 3:09 pm

I bet George Lucas goes after them much faster

  8. DesignatedBlogger September 11th, 2007 at 3:10 pm

Yeah, Joba Rules is a lot better. Who wants a shirt that says Joba the Hutt?

  9. Chuck September 11th, 2007 at 3:12 pm

On what basis can MLB go after these guys? There is no logo or team name on the shirt… just wondering…

  10. saucy September 11th, 2007 at 3:15 pm

“Yeah, Joba Rules is a lot better. Who wants a shirt that says Joba the Hutt?”

seriously. wtf is a hutt anyway and is it good to be one?

    never cared for star wars…

Since we’re on the topic of Yankees t-shirts…Anyone know of any good sites out there for similar shirts like this (i.e. unofficial/independent sites)?

  12. Kate September 11th, 2007 at 3:19 pm

Modells has the “Joba Rules” shirts.
I got one over the weekend. Chamberlain 62 on the back.
    This year’s “Got Melky?”

  14. Tony September 11th, 2007 at 3:23 pm

why would MLB go after them? there is no Yankee or MLB symbol on the shirts??

  15. jl September 11th, 2007 at 3:23 pm

    I GOT ONE!

  16. JRVJ September 11th, 2007 at 3:33 pm

Actually, Lucasfilms could also have issue with those shirts.

OTOH, they could sell those shirts over by Canal Street….

  17. DMan September 11th, 2007 at 3:34 pm

Im with most of you guys, definitly want the ‘Joba Rules’ Shirt.

    Mmmmhmmm

  18. rbizzler September 11th, 2007 at 3:34 pm

Not sure if Joba would be psyched about being linked to a slimy, bloated, giant green snail, who is also a gangster.

There has got to be a better option out there.

  19. saucy September 11th, 2007 at 3:46 pm

so Hutt = slimy, bloated, giant green snail, who is also a gangster

okay. i guess i see the correlation with evil empire, but this is kinda ridiculous.

  20. DMan September 11th, 2007 at 3:50 pm

I’m sure he’s gotten it his entire life. But this is probably the first time its been put on a shirt…

  21. Toast September 11th, 2007 at 3:56 pm

“Who wants a shirt that says Joba the Hutt?”

If it had a picture of a gargantuan Joba picking up opposing teams’ batters and biting their heads off, I might buy one. But that’s just me.

  22. Mehdi the Troll killa September 11th, 2007 at 4:10 pm

I’m not a fan of that pun. I’m sure he’s heard that a thousand times and must be tired of it by now. It’s not a good example of wit. I would expect someone on 770 ABC to come up with that.

  23. Chuck September 11th, 2007 at 4:15 pm

They already show the Star Wars Jabba the Hutt on the Stadium Screens when Joba comes in to pitch… it’s not new…

  24. dmm September 11th, 2007 at 4:27 pm

    How about “Joba the Heat”?

  25. dmm September 11th, 2007 at 4:46 pm

    since he throws it…

  26. Wolf In Pinstripes September 11th, 2007 at 4:48 pm

“I’m not a fan of that pun. I’m sure he’s heard that a thousand times and must be tired of it by now.”

Agreed. And I don’t find it to be a very favorable reference, for that matter. Surely somebody can come up with something that’s a little more pleasant and honorable than a comparison to a big, disgusting mercenary from a sci-fi flick. LOL

  27. Chris Serico September 11th, 2007 at 4:49 pm

Or “Joba the Hat” for his low-slung cap brim?

Or perhaps “Jobamenon” (rhymes like phenomenon.)

Ah, who am I kidding? As far as T-shirts go, “Joba Rules” is the way to go.

  28. sammy September 11th, 2007 at 4:51 pm

    didn’t see it on cafepress.
    FYI

  29. sammy September 11th, 2007 at 4:52 pm

“it” being the one that Pete showed.
didn’t see “Joba Rules” on cafepress, either… another FYI.

  30. sammy September 11th, 2007 at 4:59 pm

    I didn’t see the “Joba Rules” T on Modell’s website…

  31. Wolf In Pinstripes September 11th, 2007 at 5:01 pm

I didn’t see anything on Modell’s website, but I saw something on cafepress last night. I’ll try to dig up a link from home tonight.

  32. Tony September 11th, 2007 at 6:45 pm

Modell’s had the Joba Rules shirt Saturday when I went.

  33. Bryan C September 12th, 2007 at 12:15 am
