The Captain will be the Yankee 1st baseman in 2009 to prolong his career. The injuries have taken their toll.

You know, Kill-Schill, I actually forgot about Bruney. I would have rather watched him walk four straight batters on 16 pitches than see Britton's Dumbo-earred grill in the game. At least Bruney brings some stuff to the table. I can accept losing, but not when we don't give ourselves a chance. A pitcher like Britton should never be able to pitch in these kinds of games. After Bruney's episode in KC, Torre is done with him .. for now. So much so that he overlooked Bruney for a pitcher about as equally ill-equipped to pitch in a big game as last year's Division Series starter in Game Four -- the infamous "right back atcha" Wright -- the man he was traded for.

I agree with the Joba thing, I don't like the fact that he can only pitch on Saturday, but they obviously aren't dumb and know this and they have their reasons.

Threw that one away, not a fan in NY didn't see that coming in the bottom of the 9th. All I can ask is why?

I understand you have to lose sometimes BUT I like to lose with my best or even a major league pitcher on the mound. In the last 3 weeks the Yanks have lost 3 games, 2 with Henn and then tonight with Britton. They never should of even been in the game. I would of rather of lost with Bruney. Britton wasnt brought up from the minors all year because obviously the organization didnt like something about him...then you dont put him into his 1st close game of the season in the 9th inning of a tied game. It doesnt make any sense. It just seems like sometimes Torre manages to lose or doesnt care to push buttons to win and he did that tonight.

Also Joba pitching 2 innings yesterday was absolutely idiotic. Now he is only available for 1 game of the Boston series. Farns is actually pitching better lately but he is never available to pitch now!!???! He cant pitch 2 innings, back to back days, and now a stiff neck.

Right. Kennedy's already having and will continue to have a fine career. He represents why so many of us are excited about the present and the future with our young pitchers!

I know, but what does it really matter what anyone of us says really. It's just an opinion either way, it has no bearing on what is actually going to happen so we might as well dwell on the positives tonight and that was Ian Kennedy.

Yeah Mehdi, I know. It just sounded like some people on here wanted to shoot me and the Britton defenders at sunrise, that's all. The mood will improve when we start another winning streak!

J-Dawg it's no disgrace to give up hits to Rios and Thomas. He had to deal with the heart of their line up and he's just up from the minors. I think really everyone needs to go to their medicine cabinet right now and take a couple of chill pills.
