Real BBB - I was cheering so much the bartender and a few girls close to me tarted to root for the Yankees with the rest of the bar cheering for the Sox (and this is from Richmond, VA! so far from the den of the devil). When we won, I went a little crazy, and got a lot of high fives from the ladies in the room, with the Sox fans turning their heads and leaving. It's almost like when I saw Tiki's last game leaving FedEx high-fiving every Giant fan I saw.

pettitte and matsuzaka went a combined 9 and 2/3 innings and threw 221 pitches.
no wonder this game was almost a 9 inning record for longest game.

To me the elephant in the room is this: whether the Yankees pull off the sweep, or end up coming back to win the division or not, is not the issue. Well, it's a huge issue, but even if neither of these things happen, the elephant is the fact that it's OBVIOUS that the Red Sox just aren't that good. For three and a half months now they've been a B or B-minus team, and they just don't have the horses. The first two months of this season were a fluke (in a good way) for the Red Sox and a fluke (in a horrible way) for the Yankees. There's no question who the better team is and nothing that happens this weekend or in the next two weeks will change that.

I think the key to winning number 27 this year will be getting past Anaheim...hopefully we get them in the ALCS. I think getting a series win under their belts would be good for a lot of the guys who've only been around for postseason bad karma the last few years.

Lets see as I was taking off from Pearson Airport it was 1-0 Sox

When I landed at Newark it was 5-1 Sox
When i got home it was 7-2 Sox
When I turned on the TV it was the top of the 7th. Seems I missed all of the bad and saw all of the good. Excellent win more importantly because the Tigers won.

Best line during the Post game goes to Torre who said due to the klength of the game we were 5 minutes from being allowed to use JOba pretty funny. Must be hellish covering games at Fenway doing interviews in the hallways.

Will miss not having the postgame coverage over the next 2 days
