"Finally a sports Commissioner who knows right from wrong. Let’s hope Selig and Stern take notice."

meanwhile, the penalty for steroids in the NFL is missing 4 games?

that's a joke

For $28 million pro rated, those hats and tees seem kind of chintzy. How about rolexes for all who earn less than $2 million per season and rhinestone jockstraps for everyone else?

I absolutely love Roger Clemens, but I wonder if some kind of K4 or something in that regard might have been a little more appropriate, but who am I to question the ROCKET!!! Being from the South, you can't help but to "go there" when you see K's together like that.

I'm a Pats fan, but I can't say I disagree with the penalties levied by the commish.

What Belechick did really undermines the "product" the NFL is selling. Part of the intrigue of football games is based on anticipating what your opponent will do and planning your own moves accordingly. This is supposed to be the product of sound judgment by the coaching staff exercised in the heat of the competition. It's one reason why TV cameras keep showing the coaches prowling the sidelines: We can't tell what the coaches are thinking, but we know they're playing a chess match against the other team's staff.

Using prohibited means of intercepting another team's communications undermines this aspect of the game. As a viewer, if you think the coaches KNOW what the other team is going to do, the game becomes less interesting and starts to seem phony. So Belechick's actions undermine the game as a whole.

Even if other teams engage in similar misconduct, they apparently haven't done so in such an egregious and repeated fashion as to force the commissioner to make it a matter of general knowledge among the viewing public.

That said, 4 k's are too close to 3 k's to put on a shirt or hat... especially with a Texas flag on it.

I might have advised against that part if I were in his camp........
