When I hear some of the experts say that A-Rod needs to have a great post season for this season to mean anything, it makes me angry. While I hope he has a mind boggling post season, discounting what he has done to help get the team get to this point is petty and uninformed.

i can see immediate dividens with minky at firstbase . the problem is if minky is at first and damon and matsui trade left field and dh it leaves giambi at $20 million on the bench . normally you have to play the guys that get the big bucks .

The Yankees are a TEAM. Look at what Jorge' has accomplished, as another example let alone Chamberlain, Huges, Petite, Damon in the last half when he was done healing and getting in shape. Each of the Yankees are Yankees. They play big.

Wow, Alex is having one the best all time seasons while carrying this team and he is garbage, because he went into a mini slump? Like that hasn't happened to every single player on this team including our very own captain. He happened to hit a very big homer while in it. It is truely assine to critize Alex after what he has done this season. Give Jeter props he came up huge in a big spot.

No quesiton it is people like Joan who were booing A-Rod last year. They never learn. I wonder what they think about Jeter being on a funk intil that homer.

Without A-Rod, we are not talking about Playoffs this year.

Jeter is great, but all said and done after they both finish their careers, A-Rod will be placed well ahead of Jeter by baseball historians. As someone said above, A-Rod will rank second only to Babe.

Last night Jeter showed, once again, that he is the heart, soul and face of the Yankees. They don't call him Capt. Clutch for nothing! A-Rod is amazing too, and I think the media created an image of him that is bogus. Without him the Yanks would have no hope for the playoffs, as he carried the team during a really bad stretch. He definitely puts too much pressure on himself and this weekend it showed up again. If he can find a way to just relax and play his game, he'll give us some very exciting moments in October. Just because we worship Jeter (and I admit, I'm guilty of that), we should show appreciation for the mega-talent of A-Rod, because we need him to win the big prize this year! GO YANKS!

Joan
Why the need to compare players head to head? All the members of the 2007 Yankees bring a skill to the table that makes the team stronger. If you want to hate the player, okay, but appreciate the play.
