Tigers lose again, sink in wild card

It’s a final in Cleveland, the Tigers have been swept and now trail the Yankees by five games pending the result of tonight’s game.

Meanwhile, the plot thickens on the West Coast as Bartolo Colon has been stratched for his start against the Devil Rays because of a stiff back. Ervin Santana (6-13) is replacing him.

Tampa Bay, meanwhile, is shutting down James Shields for the season and replacing him with J.P. Howell. Shields has reached his innings cap.
