Update on the state of the blog

A few updates on the state of the blog:

Most of the regulars are in favor of registration but I’m a little afraid of going from 1,500 coments a day to 500. We’ve effectively blocked most of the trolls and those who really are offensive will find lawyers getting after them. I really want to keep this open to as many people as possible.

But if things get out of hand, I can go to registration by clicking one box.

As always, if you find somebody being obnoxious (or worse), e-mail me the comment and what time it was posted and I’ll look into it.

The Red Sox Google ads appear to have vanished thanks to some filtering. So good job by the folks who sent me links and by Ted Mann, who set up the filter.

Finally, we sold an ad. I’m told that’s a pretty big deal for a newspaper blog. As I very much enjoy getting paid every two weeks, I was happy to hear that.

Once the postseason starts, we’ll really ramp it up with audio from every pregame press conference and other special posts.

So thanks for reading and thanks for your loyalty. If it wasn’t for you reading, this wouldn’t exist.
