So, I think I finally understand how a guy with Bruney's stuff gets released from Arizona. I'm sorry, but the guy has loser written all over him. His body language. The way he responds to adversity. His inability to throw strikes when he needs to. His lack of concentration on the mound.

He's just got some bad energy around him and sometimes looks like the team and the game is the last thing he's worried about.

I don't blame him. It's an extra inning game which we all know can go either way. I just think I've seen enough of him to know what he is.

That said, the offense was horrid tonight. Melky seems like an automatic out again. Arod had some great swings though, which was nice to see.

As for conceding the division, I'm not. Boston can go on and lose their next 4 the way they've playing. You knew they were going to win with Beckett on the hill. After him though, that rotation (and pen) is a huge question mark.

Uncle Vito is a total tard.

 Roger Clemens-S-Yankees Sep. 22 - 12:38 am et

Roger Clemens, who was moved up to Saturday because of Ian Kennedy's sore back, has been scratched from his outing because of a leg problem.

Definitely not a banner day for the Bombers. Phil Hughes, originally expected to go Monday, will start Saturday on four days' rest.

BREAKING NEWS: Trolls trying to report Clemens with an injury….TOTALLY WRONG MADE UP STUFF…..( it’s so funny, as we are STILL so very close the La-HOO-sers, they find the need to troll over here on the one night that their team played any good recently ) tomorrow silence will rule again as their 100 million dollar BUST will stink it up for them….they only PRAY the the Dice-Dink pulled a hamstring as they would have a much better chance to win the game, calling up some minor league stiff…..OUT !!!!

When you get to the 14th you just throw guys to the wall and see what sticks. Really it's a total crapshoot on what a pitcher does that late into the game. It's a loss tonight, but I like our mindset and the drive that we showed while coming back. That kind of drive will really serve us well tomorrow and the next few games, and I can't wait until we're in position to clinch a playoff berth!

Vito,

Calm down. All you have to do is win one game and you have home field advantage.

Two years ago, the Yankees did just that in Anaheim. Unfortunately, Randy Johnson spit the bit in Game 3 and changed the momentum of the series.

Even with that, they had a 2 run lead in Game 5. They just couldn't finish the job. The field and the crowd had nothing to do with it.

The most overrated commodity in baseball is home field advantage for the playoffs.

Do you know how many teams with home field advantage won their series last year? One, that's it.

It doesn't mean a thing. You just play the games in front of you and see how it shakes out.

For an older team like the Yankees, with guys like Jeter, Matsui, Giambi, Clemens and Wang a bit nicked up, its best to get the rest heading into the post-season.

The Yankees are 2-4 in their last 6 post-season games. Its not like they have been lights out at the Stadium in the post-season the last few years.

Its not a big deal.

Did you feel that way about Clemens last Sunday night? They are probably just playing it safe with him. Why not? That's what you do when you have some breathing room, which they do.

No sense running him out there if they can put it off for a few days.

Farns. wasnt available so the Yanks are lucky that he couldnt hurt them in this game. Or it probably would of been over a couple of innings earlier..

Anyone that thinks that the Yankees settling for the Wild Card #4 seed, with LAA the likely #1 seed IF that happens, and will liken NY's chances to any of the other Wild Card teams lately that went on to with the World Series simply can NOT see reality. How much of an ADVANTAGE will it be to play a team that CLEANS OUR CLOCK REGULARLY both in the regular season AND in the playoffs with THEM having the Home Field Advantage ???? Seriously, you all have to be out of your minds, IMO !!!

This is why you can never have enough pitching. In one day, they lose Clemens and Kennedy for starts.

Hopefully, Hughes pitches well tomorrow. More importantly, they have to hit and, like Randy said, be more aggressive on the basepaths tomorrow.

Going to have to manufacture some runs the rest of the weekend. When they do, it usually gets the offense going.
