A great story about Farnsworth. All I have seen on TV is his inconsistent pitching performance, which could be horrendous sometimes. It's nice to know more about a player from a different perspective.

Just got back from the stadium... got there at 11:30 AM - sat thru the rain delay and all 10 innings. I'm too exhausted to read thru all the games posts but I've got to share a story about Kyle Farnsworth. Now I suppose he got lit up again (deservedly) in this blog like he did on the mound but what he did during the rain delay was beyond anyone's expectations. He stood in the constant rain for well over 90 minutes (no exaggeration) signing autographs while no other player from either team was anywhere in sight. He was literally standing in a puddle near the area where the tarp is usually kept and must have signed over 200 autographs. He patiently took the time to wipe off the rain from the balls (and whatever) was handed to him, so that he could sign a dry area on the item. After the towel he had was drenched, he was drying the items on his uniform. Now believe me, I'm not a Farnsworth fan, but seeing him standing in the pouring rain signing autographs made me feel pretty good about the guy. At least until the 8th inning.

Today's Nevermind Post Award:

"I can’t fathom why Joe would place a hitter who currently is 3 for 38 over his last forty at-bats in the lead-off spot."

Joe Torre can fathom.

Vito
Get used to being wrong...especially with your prediction that Tampa Bay gets 20 runs next two games. What a joke! Through five innings they have 2 runs...guess they didn't get your memo.

When was the last time the Yankees scored 12 runs without hitting a single home run. Kinda of hard to do. As long as we win i'll take em any way we can get em.
