That's silly- for one thing, the pitching mound is still dirt, so unless Wang twisted his ankle walking back to the dugout, there's not much of a problem. Wang is a ground ball pitcher, and grounders move faster on turf and bounce differently than on grass. Therefore, Wang, like most ground ball pitchers, is less effective on turf than on natural grass, because the defense has a harder time fielding the grounders. That's the only reason Torre might try to prevent Wang from pitching on turf. As for the postseason schedule, we won't know when the Yankees will be starting until somebody locks up the best record in the AL.
