Mr. Zippy - sorry about mis-stating about the champagne. The gist of what I was trying to say had to do with him saying, "I don't know who this is, but I love them." I just thought that was funny.

Greg - I don't know if it's true -- I heard it, I think, listening to the replay of the Yankee game this morning. Or it could have been from ESPN while I was making the beds. But I did hear it and I'll try and look it up.

doreen- is that true? if so, even more impressive stat than i originally thought. hopefully they can keep it up, and before someone attacks me, yes there are other ways pitchers give up runs besides homers, we know thats not the only important thing, still a great stat though.

this is the stat that is troubling (obviously not the joba and mo part, that's awesome)
Going into Wednesday's game, Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera had allowed two earned runs in 26 September innings, posting a 0.69 ERA. Other Yankees relievers had allowed 56 earned runs in 57 1/3 innings, an 8.79 ERA.

hope joba reacts positively to working two days in a row, cuz we are gonna need him. personally i think he can handle whatever cash and joe ask of him, lets watch and see.

all i have to say is that SJ has been bashing joe torre from day one all the way to the game on tuesday. This is what he said april 29th at 3:29pm:
The beat writers may not like it but, if they don’t fire this guy, this team isn’t leaving last place.

He has no idea what he is doing anymore.

later on he went to say: If Torre isn’t fired today, this team will go nowhere this year and he will end up hurting pitchers because he is incompetent.

Some place this guy on a pedestal, as if what he says is pure wisdom. He makes great points, his insight into the farm system is great and truely appreciated. But, his bashing of torre has been borderline psychotic and it takes away from his other post. Opinion is one thing, pure hate is another thing.

this was from the other night, probably one of the funnier back and forths i have seen on this blog, enjoy it everyone haha.

*migames* September 25th, 2007 at 10:57 pm who ever was calling SJ44 a Bruney as an 8th inning guy is wrong. SJ44 was the one saying that we should get rid of Arod and sign Mike Lowell

*SJ44* September 25th, 2007 at 11:05 pm Really, when did I say "get rid of Arod and sign Mike Lowell"? I never said that, ever. But, keep trying.

*migames* September 25th, 2007 at 11:11 pm "SJ44 June 2nd, 2007 at 10:34 pm. I'd take Lowell and let Arod walk."
Google yourself. You always say to stats heads to take your head out of the stat book and watch the game. I say to you sir, take your head out of the baseball game and search the internets. You will find great stuff

nate c, also where this little stat came from...

"Notes: Pena's fifth-inning homer was the first allowed by a Yankees starter since Sept. 5, a stretch of 110 innings"
