Mariano Rivera has pitched 1071 innings in the majors, including regular, all star and post season. I can't find where he's given up a single grand slam. Not that many news outlets blasted that Papelbon gave up a grand slam recently, they came up with other angles. That's one of the advantages of having your closer be a ground ball pitcher, as opposed to a fly ball pitcher such as Papelbon, Joba, and certain others.
If a ball is hit on the ground, there's not too much chance it will go over the fence.

Wow are you all for real? At least Tito doesn't weep like Joe, as much as i like and respect him, if i see him cry again i think i will puke. Do your homework, folks, the Angels are a mess, the only team they could probably beat is the Yankees, and thats only becuase they are in their head. Facts are facts, and once you get in your bullpen, (early) it's game-over. Now, you had Mo blow up, Andy P looked like a bag of crap last night; Clemens is done; are you chalking up Mo & Andy's outings as "not taking it seriously? Meanwhile the Sox get a great outing from Dice-K and Wakefield does his usual great job. Making the playoffs just isnt enough (except i guess for you guys) Winning is the thing....Andy P struggles on the road as does Wang, and Cleveland is on fire. You may go four, but I expect a sweep in Yanks v. Tribe; the Sox-Angels won't go more than 4.....we own the Angels at Fenway, Vlad is banged up, Chone Figgins is in a huge slump....have fun on the golf course this October
