dare I say that I hope Andy's last start in Baltimore has absolutely nothing to do with the performance we'll see tonite....I know he's used to playoff pressure and all that, I can't predict squat, but I just get so nervous, I can barely watch when things go arry, it's too painful! I hope and pray (as I sit here with my rosary!) that Pettitte is on fire tonite! and for heaven's sake, let Matsui keep bench warm, he can get that job done for sure!

History means nothing except to remind us that it CAN be done. If the team bounces back tonight, it will show that they can be mentioned in the same breath as those other Yankee teams. Unfortunately, not many will remember unless they win. Guess that's how we can tell the bandwagon jumpers from the fans who are true: we're still here even when they fail. It only makes it sweeter when they win. BOTTOM LINE: we need a well-pitched game from Andy tonight.

Wang was up, the two out RBI's killed us and the runners left on was just as bad...i'm moving on we have 7 lefty bats to face these three righties...bottom line we need to take this one tonight

History points to: Good pitching wins; the Yankees dont have it; if you can manage to get to your pen prior to the 7th, the Yankees are toast. I suggest they get their tee-times scheduled now.

I'm not giving up on the team at all. They can still win. But that's because they're good and Cleveland's #3 and 4 starters are shaky, not because it's an advantage to lose the first game.

Past results do not guarantee future performance. Of Course.

That's not the point.

The point is that at the end of the day, it's one game. It's not the end of the series if you lose game 1. If they go out and play like they are capable of they still have just as good a chance of winning this series as they did before tonight's game.

And really, given the way this season has gone, did anyone think anything in this postseason would come easy and without stress?

See what happens tomorrow and then we'll know if panic is really warranted.

As great as that sounds, it's not good logic. They did well despite losing the first game because they were a great team that went on to win World Series. Losing the first game means they have to win three before losing two instead of winning two before losing three, it doesn't give them magical come-from-behind powers.
