I can't take all this! no matter what we say, they are going to do what they are going to do, we can only stand by watch and cheer (and sometimes swear!). that's the hard part about being a fan - none of what we think is taken into consideration by the "higher ups". So unless we think we should apply and get a job in baseball........we can keep beating these subjects to death, the game of baseball in October has nothing to do with numbers!

just crusing by,

I wouldn't be so confident if I were you right now. If Dice K coughs one up tonight, then you guys lose homefield advantage like that... then it is out to California for two... Escobar was a CY Young candidate until September.

I say: the winner of each game tonight will advance. I think Yanks win and go back to NYC... be interesting to see if the Angels can steal one in the Fens.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch, bro.

I say:

If the Yankees win tonight, then they win the series and move on to the ALDS.

The Yanks hammer mediocre pitching (westbrook etc) and bat .300 at home in the Stadium.

But, an 0-2 hole would be tough for this team to overcome b/c they'd have to beat CC Sabathia at home in game 5. They had their chance to slaughter him last night when he CLEARLY didn't have stuff or location. They missed their shot. I wouldn't bet on Sabathia being bad twice in one series, so lets hope it doesn't come to that.

Do think that you need Giambi in there rather than Matsui. Giambi has better plate discipline, willing to walk, and is more likely to lift a flyball with a runner at 3rd than Matsui.

Plus, with the exaggerated shift, it is harder to turn 2 if Giambi comes up with a runner at 1st.

Matsui is just lost at the plate right now. He is back to his early season pulling off the ball when he swings. His second AB last night, there was no way he was even going to touch the slider. It was thrown at the corner of the RH batter's box and his front foot was 60% towards first base.

Hi all..

Got to thinking about last nights game and remembering days of yore when I played. While we as fans would prefer our boys to go undefeated, reality says that it not possible. Last nights game is an easier loss to take becasue it was so lop sided than a loss where Mo gives up a dink single to some slap hitter and the Yankees lose by 1 run.

Losses like last night are aberrations in Post-season and should be looked by fans as just that. It was a one time arse kicking where things went one way for one team.

So tonight, look for the Yankees to be more aggressive, run the bases better, and look for Pettitte to throw 75% first strikes. Yanks return to the Bronx tied 1-1 with Clemens throwing the ever important Game 3.

Feeling still is that if the Yankees can be up 2-1 going into Game 4, the series will not return to Cleveland.
