Carl Pavano has no comment or complaint about the goings on in the Bronx. His only concern is when the mail deliverer arrives and on time with his payroll check.

By the end of the General Manager's meetings in early December, Yankee fans will have every reason to feel good about next season. Brian Cashman has much work to do but this offseason has already started off not being a bore.

Actually, it provided real insight into the fact that these guys develop friendships and bonds and are not just business resources. The Yanks - Sox rivalry would complicate Damon doing that...but the O's are a different story. Hence why I enjoyed seeing it.

Peter Angelos has ruined the O's and makes it difficult for anyone to develop loyalty to the organization anymore.

"I thought just the opposite and that it was great the Red Sox didn’t just ignore Millar’s contributions because he’s wearing another uniform. "

Yeah, I could just imagine your reaction (along with others) if Johnny Damon threw out the first pitch last night!
I have no problem with former teammates supporting each other...do it in private, not on National TV!

"Typical low class Boston bringing in a player under contract to an AL East team (Kevin Millar) to throw out the 1st pitch and announce their lineup on TV just because he played on the team that won it’s 1st championship in 86 years. Incredible."

"That takes away some of the bite of the argument Boras is trying to make."

Actually it makes his argument for him. Boras said (I think on Saturday) that manager was only 1 of the questions. How the team would be run in the future now that the sons were taking on more reseponsibility was also an issue. If a guy who is always in the media spotlight for crossing the street, now gets put in the media spotlight by the people who are running the team, if it was me, it would raise even more questions and not answer them.

"I seriously, seriously doubt that anyone with actual power in that organization is going to tell a newspaper reporter that Alex Rodriguez hated Joe Torre"

Don't be so sure. That's something George would have said in the past. George always got a pass on stupid media remarks; It was just George being George. Some of those trying to fill George's shoes whether it be a son or a reviled team president are not going to get the same pass and need to be more careful in what they say and to who now.

No real surprise from a college cowtown not knowing how to act other than like little kids in a sandbox.

There are more than a few beat writers at the Daily News who have nothing but comtemp for the Yankees. Without revealing a source this story could be contrived.
