I think any new manager will add a freshness to the team- and that's all this team really need. Any significant trades I think would not be in the favor of the yankees either. Unless the team average age gets younger with a trade, I think the yankees should not trade. Wang, Pettitte, Hughes, Joba, Kennedy. That's a rotation built for the future- ofcourse pettitte is the anchoring veteran to give stability and wang is a future veteran. Bullpen can be figured out - hopefully they pay Mo to come back. Maybe we can see more Shelly Duncan next year? Positional players are set. They pay posada to come back. Arod back. jeter, cano ofcourse. Melky for outfield. Aside of being a good clubhouse presence, he would be the best pure CF the Yankees have seen in years. The spacious CF at the Stadium and other venues would be his domain and a neat righthanded bat to match. He could keep the position in check until Austin Jackson shows he's ready.
