pkdkdks, ERA+ (a stat that you guys seem to be obsessed with) is an ERA based on a pitcher's home park and the league he plays in, where 100 is used as the average. I'd be lying if I could tell you the math involved, but then again I don't pretend that I'm the foremost expert on the subject either.

I think Torre should have been fired in 2005 (arguably 2004, for starting Kevin Brown in Game 7 of the ALCS), but also that the Yankees brass dealt with in a completely classless way. And yeah, I booed A-Rod in 2006 because he played like a goddamn dog.

Seriously, I just checked out their site and the link here.

They need to get over themselves. His name is CASHMAN...is it really that hard to believe that more than one person may have come up with "C-Money?"

Reminds me of the scene in Rocky I, when the newsreporter asks him if other boxers trained in meatlockers and pounding raw meat.

Rocky's response, "No, I think I invented it."

Also, I cheered A-Rod and have also been critical of Torre. Just getting that out there before a nomaas troll calls me out.

Nomaas is an entertaining site but their insight is terrible. It reads like they just read moneyball and think they know everything about baseball now. They do have very funny photoshop jobs when the Yanks play the Sox.

They have a fixation with bashing Torre for everything that goes wrong. Yes, Torre is bad at handling the bullpen but what else can you fault him for this year. Cashman puts the team together but he gets a pass.

Keep up the good work, Pete.

Dan, I bet you booed A-Rod and still thinks Joe Torre should be our manager.

Name me 1 sabermetric stat and what it means and how you formulate it

Honestly, **** NoMaas. A bunch of driveling, annoying, self-righteous and entitled "fans" who reinforce every negative stereotype about Yankee fans. Plus these really knowledgeable guys gave originally gave the Mussina extension an "A", (and gave F's to the Jason Marquis and Gil Meche signings) loved the Farnsworth, Myers and Vilone signings (later claiming that the Yanks have no idea how to build a bullpen), thought Brian Bruney should be the Yanks main setup man and thought Giambi should be the regular first baseman. If they had $200 Million to burn, the Yankees would be bankrupt.

Other than the timely good laugh from the front page, I think nomaas is a waste of time.

I don't agree with Peter quite often, and his blog is more opinionated than his news accounts. That's to be expected. But I'll sooner turn here than to nomaas.

I'm sure the folks who run that site are good, devoted and somewhat knowledgeable fans. But their easy solutions are easy to put pen to paper when you're anonymous and not accoutable.

It's a fan blog.
Some would call it a good one.

Personally, I don't care for it and I find the commentary on nomaas inange.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

"Girardi" and others like Girardi (or may be all of you are the same person, I don't know)

Please stop saying people have a problem with Pete b/c of this or people don't respect Pete's opinions b/c of that. I don't think it's far-fetched to assume that most people who frequent this blog appreciate the blogger and what he has to say. So please stop trying to represent "the people".

And with our team's disappointing early playoff exit and the state of flux right now, can we all just focus on the positives, like, rotation for next year, coaching staff, etc? I'm not saying everyone has to agree on everything, of course not, but can we talk about real baseball/productive stuff than why the blogger sucks? It's completely uncalled for, disrespectful and frankly boring.

I for one am more interested in hearing more about the two new Yankees from the Isreali League than all your complaints. You don't like it, go start your own blog and stay away from this one.
