Does anybody think if A-Rod approaches the Yanks and said he’ll give them a discount – say the 21 mil owed them by Texas – that Cashman and Hank will listen? Or would that just be self-destructive and look bad for the Yanks?

My personal opinion is that if A-Rod/Boras state that A-Rod wants to remain a Yankee and that he’ll offer them a discount, that the Yanks will save face.

This all might have been public posturing of egos on both ends – - The Yankes PUBLICLY saying they won’t talk to A-Rod if he opts out and Boras taking them up on the challenge and publicly opting out.

Either that or A-Rod already has a deal in place with another club.

I like Cashman more and more all the time. Way to go!! Maybe with Alex leaving, Jeter will get his full mojo back. I’m so disappointed in A-Rod, and there’s a still a small part of me that hopes that somehow he’s just brainwashed by Bora$$ and that he’s really not that shallow, but sadly, I’m afraid he is. We don’t want anyone here who doesn’t want to be here…agreed.

Last night, PayRod handed away the last shreds of adoration or appreciation any fans may have had left for him (other than some little kids who won’t understand all this.) To sacrifice that and your self-respect for the almighty $$ is absolutely SICKENING. He just filled Bonds’ spot as ‘persona non grata’ in the baseball world. I hope he too never wins anything more than his lame MVP awards — as he knows nothing of the word or concept of “team.”

GOOD RIDDANCE you PHONY, MONEY GRUBBING, CHOKING EXCUSE for a BALL PLAYER. His time here has been nothing but a distraction since Day 1 and frankly I am relieved to be rid of him.

One last thought: he probably thought it was funny or cool to try to upstage the RedSox winning. . .if that isn’t warped, I don’t know what is.

Drive 4-5, I agree. I don’t understand the Torre bashing either. Why does someone always have to be dragged down with him (Jeter/Torre). If A-Rod did half of what Torre did for the Yankees, we’d be thanking him for 2 WS instead of trying to Oust his stank.

I wanted A-Rod to stay and sign an extension of max 30M per for 5 years. But I honestly donÂ´t really care heÂ´s gone. I hope he signs with one of the best 15 teams so we get 2 nice picks for him. I kinda hope heÂ´ll sign with the Red Sox, having him come to Yankee Stadium should be SWEET!

At least the Yankees handled the situation with class, unlike A-Rod. And Boras shouldnÂ´t be blamed for being the best agent (by far) in the business.
