Don Mattingly conference call

Here is the audio from the Don Mattingly conference call. As you would expect, Don handled himself in a classy way and said the right things.

When asked about the Dodgers, Mattingly ducked the questions. But that is what you have to do when something is about to happpen.

Mattingly said he felt no ill will to the Yankees. I was surprised to hear that they offered him the bench coach job. But he turned it down knowing it would be an uncomfortable situation.

Mattingly said he still wanted to become a manager. He may prove to be the luckiest guy in this thing. Joe Girardi will have a tough task replacing Joe Torre. Perhaps one day down the road, Mattingly will be back in pinstripes.
