I really have nothing against A-Rod. He switched to 3B, won 2 MVPs and was a positive influence on Cano & Melky. If he wants to test the Free Agency market or just doesn't want to be a Yankee, that's his perogative. But he is once again, his own worst enemy in PR. You can never believe what he says. If he wanted to explore his opportunities, he should have said so rather than gushing about how he couldn't imagine himself in another uniform. And the idea of whether 3 guys in their mid to late 30's would be resigning with the Yankees was impacting whether he wanted to commit to a 10 year contract is laughable.

Boras is smart so you have to think he has a good read on the market but I just keep wondering who is really going to give him a 8 year plus contract at $30MM/year. The Dodgers would seem as good a candidate as any but McCourt is not one of the wealthiest owners and is thought to be stingy, and they are still pissed at Boras for orchestrating JD Drew's opt out last year and may not want to deal with him.

I will miss A-Rod's hot streaks. They were really exciting see these last 4 yrs. I totally disrespect him and any other "super star" Yankee whose ego put them above the beloved "pinstripes".

LA is perfect for Joe. He can small ball up a strom in the "little" league and reunite with Scott Procter.

I think Arod is headed to the Angels in a deal that Borass already had cooked up, just like he did for JD Drew.

I refuse to accept the thought of Mattingly in another uniform. I may cry when I see it.

Whoever said the comment about Jeff Kent and A-Rod is dead on. I would love to see that soap opera.

Although I gurantee A-Rod would never get into an altercation with him, he would direct all his hostility through the media. A-Rods a P*ssy when it come to that.

JK, on the other hand, is a bad ass, IMO.

I'm hoping that Torre and Coletti's preference for older, less talented players means that guys like LaRoche, Kemp, Loney, Abreu, Hu, and Billingsley will be available now. It will be interesting to see if Joe will be able to deal with the rookie mistakes these guys will make.

Does anyone know if David Wells is going to pitch next year. The Dodgers really would be Yankees West circa 2002-2003 with Boomer, Rocket and Andy. Come on, would that really make any sense?

Some of you need to learn a little about baseball and business.

Neither Torre nor Girardi were classless for negotiating with the Dodgers. Its business. Nobody did anything wrong.

Some of you are whining about the coaching staff. Based on their playing careers? Are you serious?

One's playing career has NOTHING to do with their coaching abilities.

Jim Leyland and Tony LaRussa has non-existent careers. They turned out "ok", didn't they?

You all fawn over Larry Bowa and he was an awful manager.

Do yourselves a favor and either learn a little about the game and the business of baseball or take a break from the blog.

Writing such nonsense brings the entire quality of the blog down to pre-school level.
