Will the Marlins ever get their own stadium? I feel bad for the Dolphins having to play on that sandlot when the seasons overlap.

  2. Rockin' Rich November 1st, 2007 at 6:40 pm

    Yay!

  3. Rebecca--Optimist Prime November 1st, 2007 at 6:42 pm

mel–From the last thread: Girardi’s delivery was good enough that I didn’t even notice!

  4. steve November 1st, 2007 at 6:42 pm

i bet that will be the only time the marlins sell that stadium out all season …. ZING !!!

here’s Derek mingling with some fans in Miami

    he has a strong social-conscious.

You are better off going up to Tampa for a spring training game. Baseball in a football stadium does not cut it.

  7. mel November 1st, 2007 at 6:49 pm

    Rebecca,

Try watch the video at mlb.com. It was good. He got choked up, he was a little nervous, but I would be too if I had just become the 32nd manager of the New York Yankees.

That use of “and” in a year just kills me that’s why I thought if was funny.

  8. mel November 1st, 2007 at 6:51 pm

    Dr. Acula,

LOL. Can’t you tell that’s a media event? He’s miked up!

Wonder if Jeter reserved the penthouse at The Shore Club? Hopefully, he’ll pay for parking for valet parking in advance for his guests this time.

  12. Dr. Acula November 1st, 2007 at 6:55 pm

    mel-

that’s not a media event, that’s the audio for the home video.

Tentative title: Touching All The Bases or Double Play

Hopefully, he’ll pay for parking for valet parking in advance for his guests this time.

Not only does he validate, I hear Derek also issues transfers and tokens.

  16. Rebecca--Optimist Prime November 1st, 2007 at 6:57 pm

    Mel–yeah, I saw it.

I am really loving the Joe Girardi era so far…

  17. pat November 1st, 2007 at 6:57 pm

Derek seems to be enjoying his off season. Last week a friend sent me a wasted out Jeter picture of him from the day of the Valet Parking incident in Miami.

  18. J-Dawg November 1st, 2007 at 6:58 pm

Will Girardi be shaking hands with the Marlins’ front office at those games?

  19. Dr. Acula November 1st, 2007 at 6:59 pm

The one on the right is phenom catcher – I mean just check out that chest protector ;)

  20. Gary November 1st, 2007 at 7:03 pm

With any luck Cash will have Garrett Atkins patrolling 3B for the Yanks during those exhibition games!

    Get him C$

  21. S.o.S.27 November 1st, 2007 at 7:05 pm

My only worry is that Jeter doesnt seem to be resting his knees in the offseason.lol

  22. derek November 1st, 2007 at 7:08 pm

Aren’t the Yankees suppose to play an exhibition or spring training game at Virginia Tech?

  23. Samples November 1st, 2007 at 7:24 pm

Nice!! Although, I’ll probably still make the drive up to Tampa for enjoy a day at 2001, ummmm, I mean a spring training game. Some might know what I’m talking about….

  24. UtilityMan November 1st, 2007 at 7:43 pm

For those of you who have not had the pleasure, go to Legends field instead.
Great site lines, Dimensions are the same as Yankee Stadium and it is very east to get in and out of there.

I go every year to at least one game since I can’t go to NY for the real thing.

  29. Juice November 1st, 2007 at 9:11 pm

so when does our regular season schedule leak out? some other teams have their tentative one already.

  30. Dewey November 1st, 2007 at 11:34 pm

When will the ST schedule get out? Later this month? I need to plan my vacation-time!

  31. UtilityMan(Sojo,Cairo,Velarde,Tolleson) November 1st, 2007 at 11:56 pm

Usually around DEC 1ST on legendsfieldtampa.com

  32. Rockin' Rich November 2nd, 2007 at 11:06 am

The Marlins ticket number is useless. Still refers to Pro Player Stadium, in fact!

In all fairness, though, things are a little slow for them right now…. and tix are not yet on sale.

  33. saucy November 2nd, 2007 at 12:06 pm

    Jeter’s suit rocks.

“anyone else ready to boo a rod next year?”

not really. i personally don’t care that much. and i think the way the RS fans boo Damon looks kinda silly.

“Will Girardi be shaking hands with the Marlins’ front office at those games?”

    lol

  34. BBB November 2nd, 2007 at 6:25 pm

  35. UtilityMan November 2nd, 2007 at 11:17 pm
