No comment from Posada and Rivera

Posada practically ran by us. Rivera waved but would not stop.

Derek Jeter predicted they would remain with the Yankees but said that was just his personal feeling. Joe Torre said much the same. Torre also said it would not surprise him if Andy Pettitte did retire.

Torre smiled and said, “it’s possible” when asked if Alex Rodriguez would join him with the Dodgers. According to Torre, Frank McCourt will make the financial commitment to winning.

Lee Mazzilli will not be joining Torre, however. His father passed away during the summer and his mother is ill. So he will be spending time with his family.

Bruce Springsteen didn’t stop for questions either on his way in. Which is just as well because I would have a fool of myself asking him to play “Drive All Night” on Thursday in Albany.
