On the other hand, if this (Lowell to Yanks) is in fact true, it puts Boston in a bad situation, trying to replace his glove and bat. Landing somebody like Cabrera might cost them somebody like Buchholz, though I suspect that the Sox will only use Clay to get a Santana. Still, it'll cost the Sox somehow.

I believe these "Lowell" to Yanks rumors were intentionally leaked by the Yanks to drive up his price and # of years if Boston is still considering him. You won't hear Lowell's camp deny this as it benefits them too.

I cannot, for the life of me, see the Yanks giving up a 1st round draft choice, especially to the Sox, unless Cash and Hank are doing way too much partying in Tampa.

I think that the seasons for Bonds, Sosa, and Macguire should be erased and forgotten. No HOF, No Records, No memory. If everyone wants Bonds erased so bad they also should want Sosa and MacGuire. Bunch of no good cheaters ruining the great name that is baseball. A national past-time turned into lies and cheating, it just isnt right.

Don't want Bonds to go to jail.Mlb needs to erase all runs scored during the years in question, and put Babe Ruth back where he really should be now ,behind *Hammerin* Hank. While we wait for Alex. The record should be stripped from Bonds, and he never inducted into the Hof.If the Babe has to be third to anyone, let it be because of another Yankee.

I for one still view Aaron and Maris as career and single season home run champs respectively. It's immeasurable how much these roid heads (McGwire, Bonds, Sosa) have screwed up our game. The single season HR record stands for 37 years then out of the blue, it's broken 6 times in a 4 year period. Now, when ever a player turns in an outstanding performance, there is a hint of suspicion towards his achievement. That's the real damage here. Now there is a possibility that Bonds will go to prison. Hope it was worth it.

If both Miguel and Santana are available, I can see a scenario where whichever team loses out on Cabrera will go for Santana. Like we always say here - you can never have enough great pitching ... and Santana is the best.

What I feel is the worst of all, is once again a cheater has raised a bar. McGuire cheated first and now Bonds, which makes the single season HR record basically impossible to reach by any decent honest player. You would have to cheat to break it.

It took 4 years to indict this guy?? Maybe he can get Arnold Schwarzeneger to testify how beneficial steroids are and Bill Clinton on how lying to grand juries is the proper thing to do.
