Wow. A-Rod's season was one of the 10 best in the history of the game? Nope. A quick check of the Babe's Baseball Reference page (http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/ruthba01.shtml) shows that his 1920-1931 run produced 10 seasons of equal or greater value than A-Rod's. Throw in Hack Wilson in 1930, Lou Gehrig in 1927, 1930, 1931 and 1934 and Williams in 1949, and he's not even top 10 anymore. Sorry.

Why would I think any differently about Posada having an unusal year, and will most likely revert to form? You sox fans are too much. How pathetic you are over the least little comment against any of your players.

I certainly have no expectation that Jorge Posada will put up numbers that he did this year. I do expect that he will be a good catcher who can work with the young pitching staff.

The real difference is that I didn't make one single comment about Posada keeping up his batting as he did this year. However, Sox fans all seem to think that Lowell will be magic now that he is a sox player.

Who is delusional?

wait, a-rod is ballsy for thanking his fans? how's that?

pretty ballsy move of him to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving, too. gritty, gutys, ballsy move.

mahay: villone v 2.0

riske: i wouldn't mind seeing it happen. he's younger than most of the other guys out there on the market.

farnsworth: love seeing people count on this guy again. it's not as if he's been terribly inconsistent for the entirety of his career. oh, wait. i'm sure THIS is the year he turns it around though. you know what they say about relief pitchers, the older they get, the better they get. except not at all. nobody says that at all. wake up.

miggy cabrera: would have loved to have seen it happen. but, as it stands, we're looking at a decade of the alex rodriguez soap opera. whatever. the same people who are overjoyed with the signing are going to be killing the guy come his first double-play, to say nothing of what they're going to do when he fails again in october. but this is his year. i mean, after all, he had the testicular fortitude to THANK HIS FANS!

Virgin Island - Red Saux fan…

"When a player is a career .273 hitter, and they have ONE SINGLE YEAR over .300, then its one of two things.

PEDs or a blip. Now, which one do you think?

Lowell has never before this past season hit in the .300’s. Never. He was traded as a giveaway/salary dump because he wasn’t that good.

He is a decent player, but the likelihood of him repeating a performance like last season is laughable.

Just like A-Rod will most likely not put up numbers like he did this past year again. In fact its far more likely that A-Rod will repeat than it is for Lowell to repeat.

Gotta take off those Red Sox glasses you have on."

A Point.......If what you say is accurate then you have a lot of explaining to do about Posada (who I personally think is a very good player). Posada's lifetime batting average is .277 and has never batted over 300 until this year. By your reasoning Posada's season last year was either a blip or due to PED's. So what is the big difference between Lowell and Posada? Perhaps you need to take off your Yankee glasses!

I hear ya Buddy. All that talk about worshiping the Yanks and Babe Ruth became a bunch of bullcrap the day he inked with the Sux.

No one who worships the Yanks would ever consider wearing that softball uniform the Sox wear.

Would have been a bunmmer if the Yanks stood pat in not negotiating with A-Rod and then to see him win the MVP, knowing that he wouldn't be back.

What a relief.
