Starring Paul Sorvino as Joe Torre

November
25

So I’m watching the Eagles-Patriots game and there are commercials for a new NBC show called “Journeyman.”

All I could think was, “They made a television show about Mike Stanton?”

Meanwhile, if you had the Eagles and 24, you’re looking pretty good at the moment. That Belichick looks like a homeless guy isn’t helping my confidence any.

Holy crap. I’m watching this and I’m like…

    glee

(I’m a Jets fan, doesn’t bother me too much if the Eagles win…)

  2. J-Dawg

This is a surprise so far. A.J. Feeley hasn’t looked this good in several years. The Patriots will likely turn on the afterburners in the second half. Tough day for me, my team was clobbered by the Bengals. Three-game losing streak now, but at least we play Houston next week.

  3. myrtlebeachfan

Dont worry Pete, our pats will win. 54-24

don’t worry =) Tom Brady. TOM BRADY.

  4. Joe from Long Island

Gee, the Pats might go 10-1. What a tragedy.

  5. mel

Pats will make adjustments. Eagles won’t be scoring 21 pts. in the second half.

What’s with the title of this entry, Pete? Sorvino would have to lose 50 pounds, but he’d be good for the part. Does Torre sing?

  6. Rebecca--Optimist Prime

It would be so funny if NE lost as 22 point favorites…

  7. Unspoken Majority

    Hope Brady doesn’t finish season…

  8. Fix Is In

It behooves Belicheat to lose now and avoid facing the pressure of a perfect season during the playoffs.

  9. Fix Is In

Sorvino portrayed Torre in a 1997 cable movie

I feel that it shows someone’s pure jealousy of New England to actually believe that the Pats “cheated” and it speaks to that person’s naivete. Every team in football tapes signs. It is how the game works. Mangini knew exactly how NE did it and tipped off someone. Theres a reason they have won this many games, theyre the best team in the NFL and they have been blowing out teams. It’s not something that “cheating” helped them accomplish. Theyre just the best.

  11. Fix Is In

    Forget taping.

They were jamming opponents’ communication lines.

CBS’s “The N.F.L. Today” reported that the league may investigate the Patriots’ use of audio receivers to interfere with the Jets’ quarterback-to-coach communications.

NBC reported that the Patriots might have wired linemen to intercept the Jets’ offensive audibles.

    That’s ludicrous, bud.

  13. whatever

Ah how sweet…..... yankees fans and redsox fans UNITED to root for the Boston Patriots.

  14. Fix Is In

    That’s ludicrous, bud.

    Not according to the NFL:

The league also was reviewing a possible violation into the number of radio frequencies the Patriots were using during Sunday’s game, sources said. The team did not have a satisfactory explanation when asked about possible irregularities in its communication setup during the game.

The league office didn’t penalized one of it’s cash-cows for personal reasons.

Bill Belichick didn’t refused to take any questions because he merely filmed the other team’s defensive signals.

  15. KJ

The Patriots will NOT finish unbeaten…tonight showed why

  16. nathan

Wow.. what a surprise.. Pats cheating..

ofcourse this is not the first report of opposing teams communication devices faltering @ FoxB

I still cant get off the fact that the NFL let the Pats get away this easy.. if they felt all those tapes were worth destroying wont you think NFL to save its own face is covering a bigger mess…

and the funniest notion is that the Pats r ticked off at NFL.. cuz me.. the league shud b ticked off at the Pats if anything…

i am sure BB and R Kraft send big thank u’s to Goodell for the apparently strong fine… for 3 super bowls i would take that fine and one 1st rd pick everytime…

  17. Dan C.

Hey Pete, I thought you were going to the Pats-Eagles game?

  18. Unspoken Majority

Patriots got caught cheating, I thought we all new this? If your a Pats fan and a Yanks fan your also a frontrunner. Theres no way around that.

  19. Onkel Bob

If you can’t identify the difference between the homonyms new and knew, you’re an idiot. If you don’t recognize the difference between the contraction for you are and the possessive form of the second person, it only confirms it. Ending sentences with a preposition is icing on the cake.

BTW – Connecticut is the home of many New England fans who also follow the Yankees.

  20. jennifer- Hip Hip Jorge

Eagle just wrote the play book on how to beat the Pats, i’m sure everyone took note. The Eagles should have won last night.

  21. myrtlebeachfan

I’m positive what happened last night will not happen again. The Pats have Bellichek. Don’t forget that fact. Inside routes will not succeed again like they did this time. AJ Feeley was a fluke. I mean, cmon. Peyton Manning couldn’t beat NE but Feeley can? Fluke.

  22. Jim Clark

Who’s a bigger cheater…Bill Bellichick or Jimmie Johnson/Chad Knaus? Let’s also note betting on football games is illegal in most places and millions of people have gambling addictions
which ruin the lives of themselves and their families.

  23. jennifer- Hip Hip Jorge

Vegas is so screwed. They thought they finally put a line up that the pats could cover. Than the Pats decide to be human and Vegas loses again!

  24. Ant928

Didn’t they try a show like that on NBC? Quantum Leap I think it was called?

  25. DHC

    Baseball, anyone?

  26. DVB Forever

The fact that you call yourself a Yankees fan AND a Patriots fan worries me. I can see you rooting for the Red Stinks soon…. LOL :-)

  27. 2Yankee42

AJ Feeley is not a fluke. He was successful back in 2003 in the Eagles’ WCO (after McNabb went down). Besides it wasn’t just Feeley last night you have to give credit to the Eagles defense and their special teams. I wouldn’t put it past either the Dolphins or Steelers to end the Patriots winless streak.

  28. 2Yankee42

Edit: I wouldn’t put it past the Dolpins or Steelers to end the Patriots win streak.

  29. saucy

i hate the eagles. as much as i don’t want the patriots to go undefeated, i don’t think i could handle the eagles being the team to take away the pats chances.

agreed on feeley being nothing more than a fluke yesterday.

  30. nathan

Well.. i loathe TB and BB.. and the Pats ofcourse… but i firmly believe yesterday was the best chance to upset them.. they got way too many weapons.. Scot Pioli is the dude.. how u get Wes Welker for that trade is a tribute to how good a talent evaluator he is..

ofcourse.. 11-0* is a taint on them all.. forever…

once Indy lost.. i thought only Steel city had a chance.. but what an effort by the Eagles… after the jets blowup i give no shot for Pitt to pull it off..

in a way.. it wud b great if Manning n co goto Foxboro (where they have won the last 2 games i think) and pull it off in the AFC game.. i cant see anyone else in the AFC beating the Pats @ FoxB

AJ Feely was no fluke yesterday.. i was reminded of Kelly Holcomb when he stepped in for an injured Tim Couch for the Browns and blew away Steel city some time back..

part of it may have to do with, Pats not having enuf recent tapes of Feeley..

  31. Jack

A Yankee fan AND a Pats fan?!!
It must be hard. ‘cause I hate New England everything.
