In 2006, I went to a couple of Yankee spring training games at Legends Field. I was dissappointed to find that some of my favorite players, Jeter, etc., were playing in Japan. I plan to go down there for any 2 wks in March. Does anyone know if any of the players are going to be away from spring training?, (Japan, China) I'd like to avoid going when they are not going to be there if possible. Thanks in advance.

Re Spring Training single game tickets:

The past two years they have sold out in less than three hours. Season ticket holders grab up the best seats. However there really are no bad seats at Legends field.
Last year they said they were adding seats to the area behind the right field fence. I was there just a few weeks ago and saw no work going on. Any full time Tampa folks know anything about this?

so let me get this straight:

if the yankees dont strike a deal by tonight, does that mean hughes is off the table?

what i took from hank's comment is that the hughes + melky + prospect package is the best one we're gonna offer, and that's what the deadline is for. after tonight, hughes is off the table and if the twins still want to trade santana to us, it'll come at a much lesser price.

is that right? or just wishful thinking from a hughes fan?

it would make sense, though... the yankees back out, fake a play at another pitcher (haren, et al) and then the red sox back out. after the twins realize they're gonna get two compensation picks for santana, they come crawling back to the yankees for less than whats being offered now.
