I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a halt in negotiations for the time being and see it start up after Christmas. They have until spring training to do something. Dicey K is not going to improve from where he was. The more he has been seen the more he was hit. (The RS see this too, don't kid yourself) Schilling? He didn't do that great against the Yankees and he will probably have more health issues this coming season. Wakefield? Buchholz? I don't think the Yankee line up will do terrible against them. If the Sox take the plunge and get Santana, guess what, his ERA will go up a decent amount because of pitching half his games in Fenway which is historically tough on Lefties.
