Let Bruney go. We caught magic in a bottle with him when he first brought him in but now he's too inconsistent and too hard headed. If he doesnt want to work on his craft we dont need him.

Nice post, Pete. Is there a strong reason NOT to franchise Wang at this point? The price ain't comin' down on his kind of poise and consistent and challenging stuff at such a young age... pay some more now, pay alot less later.

Interesting list. But Horacio Ramirez is a terrible terrible pitcher. I'd rather have 10 Kyle farnsworths than one of him. I'd rather have Kei Igawa than that dude. Why in the heck did the Mariners ever give up Rafael Soriano for a pitcher that can't get anybody out?

Brandon: Where'd you get the list? If Cano and Wang aren't on it, I guess it means the Yanks reached some sort of agreement?

Okay, for real now, g'nite.

Midnight Wednesday marks baseball's non-tender deadline. That's when teams must choose whether to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players. If they don't offer a contract, the player is non-tendered and becomes a free agent.

Ben Broussard
Emil Brown
Brian Bruney
Kiko Calero
Neal Cotts
Joe Crede
Brendan Donnelly
Morgan Ensberg
Johnny Estrada
Mark Hendrickson
Reed Johnson
Jason Lane
Felipe Lopez
Kevin Mench
Miguel Olivo
Scott Podsednik
Mark Prior
Horacio Ramirez
Juan Rincon
Jae Seo
Cory Sullivan
Josh Towers
Claudio Vargas
Matt Wise

out of this list I'd say I want Horacio to make him a BP guy or Neal Cotts, I don't like Wise gets too nervous and breaks down

All right, I'll be serious now. It is good to see the free-agent signings and moves finally getting in gear. It will be interesting to see where the rest of the chips fall with free agents such as Aaron Rowand and possible trade targets like Johan Santana, Jason Bay, and others.

Brandon- Sounds like Paul has an axe to grind. That's a lot like what Luis Gonzalez said last year when he signed with the Dodgers. He wanted to face the D-Backs quite a bit. You use whatever you can for extra motivation.

off topic but I found this hilarious

"I'm excited to be part of a team that's young and has a chance to win this division," Lo Duca said Tuesday after passing a physical to make the deal official. "The NL East is wide open."

Asked what his reasons were for choosing the Nationals, Lo Duca said they "wanted me more," and that he wanted to stay in the National League. Then he paused before adding with a smile: "getting to play the Mets 18 times."
